Late night update.

If Labor Day was a mixed bag, then yesterday was pretty terrible. There were a few highlights, but all in all, I'd rather not repeat such a day. All of the sunny weather we had on Monday left just as quickly as it came. So, the rain returned, and at times seemed worse than the passing remnants of Tropical Storm Ernesto. There was more water in the streets to be found, and unlike Saturday, I was actually out and about. Even with my umbrella in tow, I still got wet when the wind kicked up around 1pm. Weather aside, the real trouble spot of my day occurred shortly after getting out of school.

It was quite the unwanted surprise when I got my period today. Judging from the records I've been keeping, it shouldn't have arrived until sometime next week or later. However, it came on 10 days earlier than last month, and 15 days earlier than the month before that. Needless to say that I was completely caught off guard and didn't even have access to ibuprofen. By the time I got home from school and reached my medicine, it was too late. The bad cramps and chills had already set in. Even after laying down I was in extreme discomfort and it took a few hours for the medicine to take effect. By that time, I had no chance of going to work, so I had to call out. I hate periods, especially the unexpected ones.

Seeing how I was unable to go to work (I actually wanted to go), I ended up watching some anime on DVD. Instead of watching what I already owned, I went straight to the stuff borrowed from co-workers. I ended up trying out Fushigi Yuugi. I remember that snowwolfmystic told me about it a few years back, so I definitely had a prior interest in it. That and the creator of the manga version, Yuu Watase, is also the creator of Absolute Boyfriend. How could I turn that down? I've watched about six episodes (I felt like the dubbed version), and other than Miaka's annoying-ness, I like it. Some parts of it definitely remind me of Absolute Boyfriend (though I'm aware Fushigi Yuugi came first), with less romance and uh more Ancient China action. There's also something about the Emperor's vanity that amuses me to no end. Seeing how he's quite the pretty boy, it's not misplaced. It's late, so a ramble is all I'm going to give on the subject of Fushigi Yuugi for now.

Before I go, some proof that I may have an addiction to this show.

I have some homework to do when I get up, so I should probably return to bed. I hope later today will prove to be a better day than yesterday was.

weather, anime, sick
