Wayyy Wayyy Overdue Post.

Jun 16, 2008 01:23

Life has been pretty hectic since 14th May. Sorry for the long overdue post, it's really long and I'll like to think you all who are reading wouldn't want to take the trouble to click on a lj cut so the whole long entry will just be here. Hahaha. Let's start according to date, so that Saturday, I received another rejection letter from NTU (the first one came from SMU earlier on). My parents started to panick, got paranoid and we all started to consider other options, like SIM and Laselle. Well, the disappointment displayed very clearly in their voices and faces really upsetted me. So out of the few options, I was most interested in Laselle, I thought it was an opportunity to put my drawing skills to a test. The next day, I met up with Val and Sylvia and got art supplies and for the next week, I took leave and I was sketching, drawing, colouring at random Starbucks around SIngapore. It was really a mad rush, it was working hard for my portfolio non-stop.

Digression: I remember meeting up with Kams, Danny & Kevin at City Hall on the 26th June, to catch up and all. I'm so damn proud of Kams, he got into Medicine in NUS! WOOHOOO! And Danny's in NUS too, engineering, well, most of my very few class girls are in NUS too. And i met up with Joshua on the 1st June as well, to catch Sex and The City and to catch up as well. I love these classmates of mine!

This was actually taken on another outing, but heck.

So anyway, I was drawing & drawing & drawing till Thursday, 29th May, when I received a thick brown package from NUS, I was accepted. I was overjoyed or super psyched, in fact, I was confused. During that week, even though i was stressed out to meet the deadline, I was actually really enjoying myself drawing and all! So anyway, the next week, I was doing random stuffs, watching movies, drawing still and hanging out at starbucks.

Another Digression: Thursday was also Ernest's birthday! Happy belated birthday! Hope you like the red locker and dinner at Timbre was awesome! Love you!

So yea, last Monday, i went for Laselle interview with Sylvia, it was really an interesting experience, the whole group interview, how the discussions and small jokes made everything so casual and rather fun. Tuesday came the acceptance letter for Laselle. Really fast huh, they're extremely efficient i must say. Hahaha. And Wednesday, i was off to Bangkok with Val and my parents. Not going to go into details so just to summarise it up, we shopped and ate alot. Bunking in with Val was so much fun, random heart to heart chats, our mad behaviours, imitating the Thais there (no offence to Thai people, it's just plain harmless fun!), indecisiveness when it comes to buying stuffs, doing leg lifts and stretching after we bathe, lazing around the hotel room, trying out clothes, shopping and well, i just love her company. I miss you already Val! Hahaha. OH AND, I forgot to mention, I got into School Of Design And Environment, Real Estate. I know, what?! It's okay, I've already devised a plan, I'm gonna be a qualified part time real estate agent, earn hell lots of money and be a wedding planner too! It's just a dream, who knows what happens in the end. So anyway, as you can tell, I ended up choosing NUS, parents and all. Oh and, my mom got me an ipod classic after so long just to congratulate me, she's awesome. HAHA! Plus I've quit RP cause they didn't have a job for me back there that allows me to go back a few times a week. Sorry to all my colleagues, I do really miss you guys, really do.

Yet Another Digression: I love the staffs at Starbucks! The staffs are really friendly and fun, especially the ones at Siglap, well, since I spent most of my afternoons there drawing. I bumped into old friends and made new ones, it's a great place to hang out anyway.

So currently, I'm going to give tuition starting from this Sunday, continue drawing, meet up with friends especially Bryan, Minmin, Lingling, Jared, Han, Wei Siew, Dalini, Lai, Ernest, Jiawei, Danny and all, watch more movies, look for more tuition kids or other random short temporary jobs, shop for school stuffs (notebook, the paper type, organiser and stationary), anticipate buying a Macbook for school soon, hang out with Hanwei and enjoy life while I wait for school to start. Hahaha.

I just want to show my rushed portfolio which I did put alot of effort in!

The Simpsons.

Eye Sketches.

European Eyes.

I Don't Need Plastic In My Body To Validate Me As A Woman.

In my sketchbook.

"If You Take A Life, Do You Know What You Give?" from 'You Know My Name'.

Mad Digression: I have to tell you all the story behind this portrait of Chris Cornell. Well, actually, i started out sketching a portrait of Johnny Depp, damn talented actor, director and producer. Anyway, it didn't really turn out looking like Johnny Depp so i just finished it, made it look like any mexican guy out there and suddenly, Hanwei told me it looked like Chris Cornell, so that's the reason why it turned out like this.

"An Eye For An Eye Makes The World Blind." -Gandhi

Pin-up Girl in my sketchbook.

Pin-up Girl With Coca Cola Machine A3 Size.

Fender Telecaster. (Which i'm giving to Bryan!)
"You fill my senses." from 'Annie's Song'

Gibson Les Paul, amps, drumset & a pick.
"What is it you love about music? To begin with -Everything." from 'Almost Famous'

Wonder Woman in my sketchbook.

The Pop-Art Painting didn't go too well(my mom hates it, really hates it, she shows everyone how ugly it is and how unbelievable it is that Laselle let me in using such a painting, but thankfully she does like the other drawings), but it had a hilarious name created by Hanwei, The Name is Woman, Wonder Woman.

Kat Von D with very blurred tattoos.

Vintage Polaroid.

& the past few weeks have been awesome spending time with Hanwei aka Hobbit. I've baked blueberry muffins,

labelled his things plus mine, (I have a thing for labelling stuffs nowadays!)

saw his really artistic (&deluded, note the muscles) self portrait,

& basically, we have been having a great time hanging out at starbucks, getting to know his friends, he's been so damn supportive of my drawings and when i get into my bitchy mood when I'm stressed with drawing, I tried to be as supportive with his schoolwork, and yea, things are just awesome, but last Sunday really tops the list. It was so touching and amazing. Thanks. I love you!
