Why on earth does this language have ten vowels?

Things to do before the end of 2011:

Finish at least five cross-stitching projects (can include the two I'm working on now).
Learn to bartend.
Memorize as many Scottish and Irish folk songs as possible.
Brush up on my French.
Learn some German.
Learn some Russian.
Read twenty books.
Knit an afghan.
Get TEFL-certified.
Get an Australian working holiday visa.
Leave the US, with no planned return date.

Today was the first First Day of School since 1992 that neither my brother nor I are present for, as I am a Motherfucking Post-Grad and he is in San Francisco, getting ready to start college on Monday. I commemorated this event by doing some dusting off of my French grammar, as well as Russian alphabet practice. Also, I am now officially registered to take a beginning German class at Durham Tech, starting in three weeks. Man, do I feel scholarly.

In other news, I am auditioning for the Durham Symphony on September 11 (purely as a formality, everyone keeps assuring me), and work continues to be awful. Tentative plans are being made for Christmas in Oregon.

work, oboe, russian, grand plans
