Aieeee classes!!!! XXXXX_x
So, fall quarter next year:
- Chinese (second-year)
- Random Ling Class #1 (Intro to Syntax?)
- Random Ling Class #2 (Intro to Linguistic Meaning? Something sexier than that?)
And, it's the last class that I'm going into fits of hysteria trying to make a decision about (and, knowing me, I will probably be doing this all summer and into the first couple weeks next year, and then once the add deadline's over, never think about it again)...
The Options:
- Physics 70, Foundations of Modern Physics? This one would make the 'rents happy. It would keep me on track to getting a physics minor (because, while it would still be entirely possible to do so even if I don't, I would probably just no longer have any momentum whatsoever, as if I really do at the moment >_>) (additional benefit: this class is one less unit than the other two, meaning I would have enough space in my schedule to take Improvising, which would be retardedly fun, and open up the option of possibly being in SiMPS later, which I've kind of fantasized about a number of times.)
- English 90, Fiction Writing? This one would make me retardedly happy, like a little 3-year-old who's given one of those giant lollipops. I love writing, and having a quarter of my classes explicitly dedicated to such a persuit would be something bordering on bliss. However, I really can't justify it at all, because the other two classes that I'm seriously considering would be "more useful," and besides, I can always take it later... there's always later... Also, it would be an awesome way to meet some other writers around campus. I don't really know many, nor really know how to find any other than through this (there isn't really a group that meets regularly or anything that I'm aware of... the facebook group just kinda exists... hmm, maybe I could hijack it and try to force people to do stuff/turn it into an actual group)
- French 5A, Intensive First-Year French. This would also make me rediculously happy; I've been nursing a growing obsession with France and things French for a couple years now, largely initially fertilized by Euro History, and more recently exploded by the PWR class that I took winter quarter ("Americans in Paris"). Also, there's a "teaching English in France" yearlong program that I'm really interested in doing in the next couple years ^^;;;. [Woo, excuses for taking a year off!] And it would get me priority in the French house, duh, the only real reason to take any class.
Ok, so I realized the thing about SiMPS like, as I was writing this [got an email about their show tonight as I was writing it out ::halo::]. And I think that tips the scale back in favor of Physics. Heehee. Results will be in in approximately... four months XD But yea, I'm done for now. (Yes, I wrote this entry instead of getting work done. It seems productive. It's planning and thinking about the future and all that...)
