Moooove!

So I am quite possibly moving... in a week!!!!
Colin and I found the cutest two bedroom in the Hough neighborhood of downtown Vancouver, close enough to Main street to take advantage of Uptown Village but tucked into the neighborhood enough to feel like there's some peace.
The place is the most adorable thing ever!!!
It's 4 separate single level 4-plexes all divided by courtyards between them that are landscaped.  We somehow lucked out on a corner unit so our front area looks out onto big trees that will be gorgeous with leaves, and side windows look out onto side yard, bushes and more trees (the street is there too) then the back is more small trees because were on the end as well as corner unit so we only share on wall which is fantastic.  They were built back in 20's (ish) as family housing for Fort Vancouver so they have all that vintage charm.  They're real hardwood floors throughout, 2 bedroom, a bathroom with crazy nooks, random huge closet in the hall across from a randomly tiny vertical closet.  It has a big kitchen with newer fridge and stove, tiny dining nook and the best part is they're updating it between now and when we move in.  So they're polishing the floors to a lighter caramel color, painting the walls a yellow/cream and all the trim will be white, brand new kitchen and bathroom floors, new wall tile, sink, toilet and lighting for the bathroom, and generally just sprucing it up.  Surprisingly this all didn't make the price go up which is fantastic.  It'll be nice to finally not be above or below anyone else.  They have storage space that you can access whenever (no asking the manager to unlock for 30 minutes) so we can store both our bikes in there.  Since were on the end the street parking is great.  I guess they NEVER have open units so I'm looking forward to some normal neighbors who are drunk all the time (girl who played the piano and drank wine AND Oscar the Grouch both at C-Cubed ha)
It's definitely a bit sooner than Colin and I expected but we have everything (thank goodness we got couches last week) except we want a new bed.  It was nice to buy all new things rather than using old stuff or hand-me-down kitchen things.  It'll also help during the move since everything is still boxed up.
We just have to drop off the deposit tomorrow and they'll be done working on it hopefully by next week and move in can be the following weekend.

I almost don't want to talk about it because I keep thinking it's too good to be real.

colin, moving
