So my car was broken into last night...
It all started when I stayed home sick and thought it'd be nice to still go clean the cat box at my parent's house (they let Maggie live there on the condition I clean her poop).  So I drove over around 7:40ish in the evening and my dad was asleep and mom was still at work.  I parked my car and since my phone was almost dead I thought for a brief moment to leave my car turned to Accessories On and let it charge but realized my house key was attached to the same ring as car key so I took my keys (thank you Universe) and left my phone.  I cleaned some cat litter and putzed around on the computer until only about 35 minutes later.  I grabbed the bagged poop and fumbled with the porch light (which hadn't been on...) and went to my car.  Here's where it sucks:
I got in my car and thought it was strange that my seat was reclined a little but didn't pay attention until I realized that there were papers strewn all over my passenger side.  Not just any papers, but my paychecks, tax return information, and bank account stuff (as I had just come from opening a new account with the bank).  I look around for a second and my cell phone and it along with the power cord were both missing.  I begin to panic a little bit and think to myself for a brief moment that it must be my mom trying to teach me a lesson then I realize how absurd that actually was and I went back inside.  I woke up Pappy who immediately says "Get in the car" but first we grab shit out of my car.  It turns out they didn't take any papers, just had opened my glove box to seek out other things, but they did take all my CDs, which was upwards of 75 or so, my cell phone and charger, and they took my little basket that held all my change plus my wallet which had my ID and $85 in cash.  Lame.  I check my backseat and somehow they didn't notice or didn't want my laptop which was untouched, but the blanket covering it was moved.
Long story shorter: deputy came out and made a report, Pappy and I drove around because he wanted to find the hooligans, and I'm out a cell phone.
We immediately changed my phone plan over to my old phone (luckily I kept it) and unfortunately my insurance has a deductible of $500 so I can't claim anything since I can't prove with receipts that I actually owned that many CDs and such.
It could have been a lot worse, I could have left my keys in the car to charge my phone and no longer have a car, they could have stolen my laptop (and season 4 of Oz!!) or they could have stolen my identity with all the papers that contained my social security number and bank account information.
The weirdest thing is where my parent's live.  For those of you who have been there it's not really easily reached because the street has no sidewalks and is a busy road with fast cars zooming by, plus it's not necessarily a wealthy area, and I don't know, buncha punk-ass kids pretty much.

This was after a day of being sick and unable to keep food in my tummy... :(

My dad and Colin were all in a tizzy but I figure they were some desperate people looking to score some drugs and it could have been a lot worse so I can't dwell too much on it all.
At least my $1000 tax return wasn't in there too, then I'd be pissed.

In other news I officially have a checking account again and according to IQ Credit Union I have impeccable credit score with not one tarnished ding on it.  So, I guess WaMu never reported my irresponsible spending ways and because of my student loans getting paid each month I wasn't as bad off financially as I thought. Yay me!!
