I took the time to look nice today for my internship. Dress, heels, makeup. I'm not really sure why. I got a lot of compliments. Some of them were nice and some of them were creepy.
An example of a nice compliment:
An elderly man was getting out of the elevator. He saw me coming and held the door. As I walked in he said 'Good morning miss, you look very nice today!' I thanked him and wished him a good morning too.
A creepy example:
I walked by a man in maybe his late 40's smoking outside the main entrance. As I approach he grinned and said 'you look very pretty today.' I smiled and thanked him. As I walked past him I heard him say 'oh no, thank you.'
I'm not going to lie. Age and situation had a lot to do with how I received the remark. I have a soft spot for elderly men because they remind me of my grandfather, who's a big sweetie. He was also doing something nice for me. The other guy... just... ew.
I may rethink wearing the dress. I got a lot of comments from the male patients. Most of them were nice, but I'm not comfortable attracting that much attention. I'm more hide-in-the-shadows-like-a-ninja, less belle of the ball.
