I am struggling to stick with my good habits. I love a good just-woke-up and a calming right-before-bed ritual. I'm not talking about anything elaborate, I'm talking about finding a method to my madness. I believe that having a routiene helps my body to deal with its schedule, especially in the evening. I would like my evening routine to consist of brushing my teeth, braiding my hair (it's getting pretty long again), a few minutes of meditation and curling up with a good book (although I can see how the book might become a problem if it's too interesting). Sounds soothing, right? Somehow I can't seem to manage it. I think a good morning routine would include yoga and breakfast, but goodness knows the best I can seem to manage is a cup of coffee and 20 minutes on facebook.
I blame summer. I had my rituals down before the end of last semester and they all went in the toilet when summer started. I even stopped going to Art, and I love Art.
Tomorrow I start my internship. By next week I'll have my schedule for the next 9 months hammered out. I hope I remember to make time for my (mental, spiritual, social and physical) health.
