In that this was an entire email from my father: "who's your daddy!" I shan't lie: there was wincing and perhaps headdesking.
And
netzgeek tagged me for the following:
1. Coffee
I worked for a certain international coffee company for three and a half years, and drank too much coffee. It gave me anxiety attacks, so I took up tea. Now, I work at a tea shop and am drinking coffee again for the novelty of it. The anxiety hasn't returned yet. Success!
2. Traveler
I would like to travel more than I have-am attempting to remedy this with plans for a trip to NYC in February and backpacking through Europe next summer (also known as finding relatives in unexpected places to stay with for free). And, really, I'm happy to go anywhere. One of my best friends is going backpacking through Syria in September and I am horribly, horribly jealous (not over the planned week in Iran, though).
3. Literary
I think I am probably alone (or almost alone) in the fact that I love literary fiction. Good literary fiction-not something painful and pretentious, but something that celebrates the use and challenges the preconceptions of everything-art, aesthetics, language, comprehension. We're at a point where meaning doesn't matter as much as how meaning is created, where it isn't so much what something is as how it has been assembled. Which isn't
4. Witty
I would like to think that
netzgeek is suggesting that I am witty, but doubts linger in my mind. I suppose that what other people might mistake for wit is my desire to amuse and be amused (even if it is by myself, when I am alone). Laughing seems to be one of the only things worth doing frequently.
5. Night Owl
I'm a chronic insomniac, who is very good at procrastination. This means that I have strange conversations with people in the wee hours of the morning, a fact with which some of you may be familiar (and it isn't just when I've been drinking).
