Not in YA, which is where I saw it shelved in the US, so I'm glad I checked 9-12 too. Makes much more sense to be there, of course, since Kat is 12.
So anyway, I hung out in the Blackwell's cafe while
elsmi was busy, reading and giggling out loud and doubtless drawing some looks; but I couldn't attend to them, because oh my, have Kat and her siblings gotten into a world of trouble in just the first third *grins*
I am loving the class stuff in
these books, you guys, with the entitlement of the Rich and Respectable characters being neither cute nor sexy, but actually causing problems for our heroine. And I love how her responses are so very... twelve. And, and, the lurid novels about evil witches! So perfectly capturing how the villains in stories *tend* to be the oppressed rather than said Rich and Entitled jerks (I am hoping the Rich and Entitled Jerks are villains in this one, but I don't actually know yet about all of them).
And oh yeah we also looked at a place. And it's possible! Main issue is, no dryer, and given my mildew allergies I am concerned about making that work. But that seems to be a Thing in Edinburgh, lack of dryers & stuff line-dried indoors, so it's not clear there will be alternatives.
The adorable toddler doesn't come with the place, but that's probably a good thing.
anyway afk: book!
