American Idol - Top 8 Girls

Performance notes:
Katie (Breakaway) - Pitchy, dawg.  I do feel bad, because she is trying, and she doesn't seem like she's a bratty or annoying 16 year-old, but she's just not ready this year.  Then again, I haven't heard any of the other performances yet, so she may be one of the better ones tonight.

Siobhan (House of the Rising Sun) - Love this song, and I can't help it, I'm touched by the "doing it for dad" interview.  A capella to start - ballsy.  This is good.  Different, but not too different.  I really really liked it.  there's something very badass and super cool about her.  Boo Simon - go take a Midol.

Lacey (The Story) - This is all over the place.  Ugh, can she please just go home already?  Um...I don't know what the judges were hearing, that's so odd.

Katelyn (I feel The Earth Move) - It wasn't as good as last week - she didn't seem that comfortable.  But I still like her and hope she makes it through.  She was killer the past two weeks, and it did seem like she wasn't competing tonight.  Hmmm.  I still want her to make it.

Didi - This is so much better.  She's definitely got the right vibe when she's just strumming her guitar.  It wasn't flawless, but she looked and sounded so so so much better than the past couple weeks.

Paige (Smile) - From the very moment she walked out, it was clear that something was just off.  She looks really uncomfortable.  She sounds shaky and unconvincing, and off the beat.  Do not like.

Crystal (Gimme One Reason) - She's just a really believable performer.  She seems so natural and talented.  She's really just in a different league than pretty much everyone else.  She seems cool - I want to be her friend.  :-P

Lilly (Fall to Pieces) - Comfy little hoedown.  It was good - nothing fantastic, but definitely good enough to make the top 12.

Ranking:
1. Crystal
2. Siobhan
3. Didi
4. Lilly
5. Katelyn
6. Katie
7. Lacey
8. Paige
