I must be a bionic cat with more than nine lives

Hearing a song with the perfect melody and lyrics feels like being shot in the chest by a cannon. Not that I've ever experienced it. Being shot by a cannon, I mean. Okay fine, enough with the overly dramatic analogy.

The lines below (and their accompanying melodies) just kill me every time. Thankfully, I still have an infinite number of lives to go.

==

And I finally found that life goes on without you / And the world still turns when you're not around - Naive Orleans by Anberlin

You, the only sense the world has ever made - Switching Off by Elbow

This I need to save / I choose my final thoughts today / Switching off with you - Switching off by Elbow

If I loose a sequin here and there / More salt than pepper in my hair / Can I rely on you / When all the songs are through / To be for me the everthere, everthere - The Everthere by Elbow

In time, but time takes time, you know - Time by Ben Folds

'Cause hurt is the question / And love is the answer - Blush by Ben Lee

You kissed me slow / It happened way too fast - Is this How Love's Supposed to Feel by Ben Lee

All that I know is I'm breathing  / All I can do is keep breathing - Keep Breathing by Ingrid Michaelson

You'd break your neck to keep your chin up - Chin Up by Copeland

But I could not recall / A more perfect fall / Cause when I looked up into your eyes / It didn't hurt at all - Be Still My Heart by Postal Services

I'll be the phonograph that plays your favorite albums back / As your lying there drifting off to sleep - Brand New Colony by The Postal Service

The distance is quite simply much too far for me to row / It seems farther than ever before
 - Transatlanticism by Death Cab For Cutie

Pain throws your heart to the ground / Love turns the whole thing around / No, it won't all go the way, it should / But I know the heart of life is good - The Heart of Life by John Mayer

You rip my heart right out - Your House by Jimmy Eat World

When I wrap my arms around you / Every mistake we made crumbles - by Sondre Lerche

There are a lot more songs that I hold dear but these are all I can recall at the moment. The day wears on and I want to squeeze in some quality time with my guitar and my current read. And maybe tonight I'll go watch Start Trek. ;)
