d!Five would like to say that Adric was one more unfortunate sacrifice to the greater good, and his death hasn't affected him more than any other.
Which would be a gigantic lie, because Adric was his companion, the closest thing to a son he's had in ages, and they aren't supposed to die. They're supposed to be the people he doesn't have to sacrifice, so he can live with himself, but he failed Adric. The remorse, the uncertainty, is so utterly unfamiliar and it would tear him apart if he acknowledged it.
So he doesn't. Not unless it will gain something, and even then he's hesitant. What he should feel and what he does feel are too close this time, it's too much like being sincere.
Simon used to think the outer planets were too proud and stubborn to see what the Alliance was trying to do - unite the universe, and give everyone opportunities. All they did was cause trouble, being full of ruffians and criminals.
Now that he's actually seen the outer planets, he realise how much bullshit the Alliance has been feeding everyone. These

Five says that once, if you told him he'd live with the Master in one place for over a year, he'd think you'd gone mad and tell you so. Now it's happened, so he's probably the mad one, yet it keeps him, to some degree, sane. The stagnancy is forced on him; the companionship is what he pulls from it, for better or worse. If, however, you call he and the Master 'married', he might let the Master backhand you

Simon's a bit in awe of Zoe, really. She's braver, stronger, scarier than he imagined possible, but she's also tender and loyal, and he wishes he reached out to her more before Wash died. Now she's so lonely, so withdrawn, and it's harder than ever to connect.
He would still trust her with his life, and with River's.
He really ought to stop that, because on Gallifrey that sort of thing will eat you alive, but he can't. He'll still do something that hurts dreadfully if it means sparing someone he loves - even if it hurts them both, because he feels it's worth it. He's not very good at actually portraying that, though, because Time Lords aren't supposed to. So he stumbles over it and gets snappish and awkward and quiet - which isn't so different from what he did before, but it's got worse. It would be easier not to care, but he knows what will happen if that works, and it's horrifying.
Five thinks Sarah is absolutely brilliant, because she's Sarah. Sometimes he feels uncomfortable because she's entirely too good at breaking down his barriers and cutting through his avoidance, but that's also one of the things he loves about her, and it all gets rather confusing. He doesn't mind though, because he's just ecstatic that he can talk to her and that she's here. He always regretted not pulling her into a hug on the Dead Zone, but everything was going so

The idea of Teddy horrified him. A long time ago, he promised himself that he would create a better world for any child he had, an easier world; that didn't work, so he vowed to have none, not to share his curse. Breaking that made him panic, lose perspective. But then Harry made him think (in a way that made me want to slap him a bit, but Remus says he deserved it), and he forced himself to calm down and face the future. Then Teddy was born, and he was beautiful and perfect, no matter how the world would treat him; for the first time, Remus was filled with hope and joy again. Then, of course, he died - but he died fighting for his son, beside his wife, and he died happy

I'm rather proud of Simon for acknowledging that he hasn't manage to forgive despite believing that people should.
And over all, thank you. It's always interesting to read their responses.

It took him a while. For a bit he was too consumed with rage.
:D Thank you. It's fun writing them.

(XD YES. And then Four ignores her and they get lost and she gets her smug "I told you so" look.)
