Listening to some Versailles lately, I remembered reading about their origins. The concept of the band is 様式美 youshikibi or "beauty of form", something as much about the visual aesthetic as the music itself. So yesterday was Versailles' second gig in the UK, and I missed it. Despite what I've heard, it's still one of the biggest regrets of my life. It's getting so close now. I leave for university on Sunday, the 18th. Everything's pretty much sorted, the main stuff is all packed in boxes and suchlike, just need to figure out which posters I'll be able to take. It's kinda weird, but I've heard a fair amount of people lately saying they're "disappointed" with Versailles' new album, Holy Grail. For example, people saying "it doesn't measure up to Jubilee".
