So this is quite an old post, but it's good to look back on what you wrote. I think it's good to refresh your mind of what's truly valuabale and important. Because a lot of us, even me are easily influenced by others. But the only way to succeed, is to always surround yourself with the right mentality and not be influenced. Of course, I don't mean to lie to yourself.. but rather look at things for what they are.. and be truthful to yourself and be willing to accept the truth of the matter. I'm sure as you know, I still have a lot of things to work on, if you read my journal. But I can say, because of the willigness to change, I am doing a lot better than before. Because someone once told me that if you change, everything will change for you.

Leaders, whether in the family, in business, in government, or in education, must not allow themselves to mistake intentions for accomplishments.

Organization leaders help people to see themselves as they are. Our true leaders help people to see themselves better than they are.

Leaders must not be naive. I used to say, "Liars shouldn't lie." What a sad waste of words that is! I found out liars are supposed to lie.
That's why we call them liars -- they lie! What else would you expect them to do? So, when you know that, you also know how to react and focus your time and energy with them.

We must learn to help those who deserve it, not just those who need it. Life responds to the deserving more than the needy. There are many needy...there are usually few truly deserving. Put your time and effort in where it will count.

My mentor said, "We'll do it," not "You go do it." How powerful it can be when someone says, "Let's all get involved"! A team concept is always better than going it alone.

When dealing with people, I generally take the obvious approach. When someone says, "This always happens to me and that always happens to me. Why do these things always happen to me?" I simply say, "Beats me. I don't know. All I know is that those kinds of things seem to happen to people like you."

We could all use a little coaching. When you're playing the game, it's hard to think of everything.

The objective of leadership is to help those who are doing poorly to do better and to help those who are doing well to do great.

Remember, as a leader you should always start with where people are before you try to take them to where you want them to go
