Homemade Beef Burgers

This evening I decided to try something I'd never done before, and so came up with the idea of trying to make beef burgers from scratch. In looking around for a decent recipe I could only find ones which were fairly complicated, so thought I'd share the simple recipe I eventually made up myself for you here!

Homemade Beef Burgers
(makes 4 thick burgers)

500g minced beef
1 small onion
1 teaspoon(tsp) majoram
1 tsp thyme
1 tsp oregano
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp salt

Using a knife and fork, split the uncooked mince beef down so that it is in small pieces. Mix with the onion and herbs. Add the egg and mix. Add salt and pepper. This mixture should bind together, so that with clean hands you can split it into four balls. Flatten these balls out to make burgers and fry in oil on a medium heat until they are brown all the way through. Serving suggestion: eat hot inside white buns with sliced tomato and/or sauce.
