It's been a long time since I've updated. I've thought about it several times and probably should have done it, but didn't. So much has happened. Maybe that's why I didn't want to update. I didn't want to go through all the trouble of trying to explain every little thing. Anyway, in chronological order:
I went to Seattle for two weeks in May or June to visit Steve. The trip was amazing and it was great to see him again. We did tons of stuff; from hiking to site-seeing to just hanging out. Of course Steve had to work so I spent several days just doing my own thing in the heart of Seattle. It was Chicago all over again - very self affirming. I went everywhere. The city was my playground. And their public transportation system is fantastic. Steve lives about 45 minutes north of Seattle, so most days I took the bus into the city in the morning and the train back in the evening. I love it there. Steve and I had a long talk; when I'm done with school I'm moving out there and we're probably going to get a place together.
A final thought about Seattle. I went on a date my last night there. I was taking a tour and saw a girl working in the window of a chocolate shop. When the tour was over I went back there, bought some chocolate and made some conversation. I asked her out to dinner and she replied, "we close at 7. I'll see you here at 7:30?" Her name was Alison - she was very cute and very sensible. We had a nice time together. I didn't know the area very well, so she picked the restaurant. It was a dimly lit place; slightly vogue with a hint of class, but an overall relaxed atmosphere. We split some food and talked for hours. We had a lot in common and it was really nice to be able to relate to someone on so many levels. Anyway, the night ended, I took the bus home around 12:30 and the next morning I was on a plane with a lot of fond memories. Yep, as long as life doesn't go horribly wrong I'll be moving to Seattle in a couple of years.
Well, I'm tired of writing for now. Next entry: LCC's Radiography program and the new girl at work.
