(2011.7.4) Tanabata Disney!

Jul 06, 2011 22:43

This is the beginning of the end of my time here in Japan. I want to make the fullest of each and every day of this last month here, but each day is slipping through my fingers so quickly it's kind of scary!

Although my schedule is getting so filled up that I am convinced that with this heat/humidity and death schedule, I'll have blood spurting out of my nose in no time, I am really happy that so many of the friends I made here in Kamogawa are so actively trying to spend time with me before I leave.

Two of my "onee-san" figures at work, Kasai-san and Setsuko-san agreed that the three of us had to go somewhere before I leave Kamogawa! We go to dinner a lot, but otherwise usually Kasai-san's kids come along too (they are both two super cute girls, so it's not actually a bad thing at all) - but we wanted to have an adult-only party...so we decided to have an 大人女子 Disney day!!

It just so happened that July 1-7 is the Tanabata Festival at Disneyland! Perhaps because it's such a short, relatively low-key event, no one had ever heard of it. It's not that big of a deal, but it's still nice! They had these Tanabata decorations, where visitors could come and make a wish! Since I was at Disney, I figured it would make sense to make mine related to my promise with scary guy <3.

Another Tanabata thing...super mini parade? Basically the characters are just wearing Tanabata-themed costumes, or they are just carrying Tanabata decorations XD Nothing special here either, but it was cute!

Totally unrelated to Tanabata...but Mickey waffles! They were a bit too crunchy...but it was matcha azuki (on the left side)!!! And they were HUGE - like at least 1 inch thick! Didn't need dinner afterwards...

Giant pretty Tanabata decorations near the entrance of the park~.

Anyway, very very busy from here on out...not so much with work as I am with personal stuff! As of today, I have at least 3 nomikai planned every week until I leave. Slightly unfortunate for someone who likes to eat at home as much as possible, but like I said I am really thankful that everyone wants to spend time with me before I leave. I will try my best to record all of it here in LJ, so please bear with me!! <3
