The Vivienne and Jinkx's "feud" rolls on…
Truth is, all the time they're spending on one another is giving time for other people to edge their way to the top. Shit, Yvie went from one star to two in the course of one episode. No, she couldn't have been blocked but still. The Vivienne clearly wasted that block on Jinkx. I don't care. I don't care. Fight me.
This week's episode has the queens looking at a Pinterest board of sorts, picking through RuPaul's past looks for a bit of inspiration. Okay, I like this challenge cuz they're not recreating anything, they're supposed to find inspiration.
The Vivienne gets to pick 1st since she won the lipsync last week. She picks RuPaul's Despite Awards gold look from Season 7 and um, Yvie… Let's talk. Without Raja you wouldn't have 2 stars so why didn't you pick her after yourself? As a matter of fact, Raja ended up dead LAST in the picking order. I dunno if it was a conscious decision or not, but the queens went outta their way to stop the Raja train.
I dunno when it started, but somewhere in this challenge, Jinkx started to lose her shit. She was just laughing and making all these noises with the other queens looking around like: ??? Except for Yvie. Yvie was enjoying the meltdown. Jinkx was on the table in front of her bent over with Yvie slapping her on the ass 😂😂😂
The queens seem so much more relaxed this season. Did I mention that? It just feels like a different kind of season and I love it BUT I have one complaint: Because they know nobody is going home, it doesn't feel as if much effort is going into their lipsyncs. The lipsyncs this season have been so dry. There. I said it. Sometimes I'll be watching thinking "Come on, Charlie… Do something, Charlie…" ala season 9. I dunno what's going on or why, but I will say this episode had the best lipsync of the season tho'. It's not up there with any of the classics, but Trinity and Jaida did the damn thing. When Trinity slid into Jaida's ass, I went 😳😳😳
They were cutting up out there. I was like: Finally! Something worth looking at!
Welp, seeing as how I just spoiled this episodes winners, let's get into how we got there cuz I really, really wanna talk about Trinity and Jaida specifically *laughs in inspiration*
^Queen (This looked even cooler in motion. My only complaint was that the seams were white instead of red. The pants were the main attraction tho'. My cows, look at the pants!)
^Queen (OMC... This is soooooooo good! Yassssss Vivienne! Yassssss! Honestly, the top looks almost exactly like RuPaul's original look. I love it!)
^Knight (I know over half the internet was singing this look's praises but I suppose this is why Max is a fledgling fashion designer. Due to the fact that she had so much fabric, I kinda wanted more. I'm only knighting this instead of peasant because Shea hand painted her fabric just like Zaldy did all those years ago and we don't know how long the queens have to complete these looks)
^Peasant (No ma'am. Nope. Nah. No. This looks like Raja was in the work room and said "Car wash, but make it fashion" and even if that's true, it still looks like "I sauntered past a dump, but make it fashion..." I hate this so much 😭😭😭)
^Goddess (The fact that Trinity had time to help so many queens and still had time to crank this out isn't talked about enough. It took Max 3 months to complete the wedding dress. THREE! Trinity probably cranked this out in an afternoon then looked at the other queens like: "Y'all need something?" This is so gorgeous! It's the gloves! The gloves are the best part!)
^Goddess (Dare I say, this was better than the original? It's not pictured but she also made a matching fur sequined shawl. My only complaint is her helmet hair. Girl, how did you manage all of that then disrespect your hair like that?! I feel like the updo was the right call... Just not that particular updo, you know? Honestly, it looked kinda dry. *shrugs* Either way, this is about the garment and her garment deserved a standing ovation. Maybe that's why she chose that hair! It was definitely standing!)
^Queen (Gurl, Monét made this. I need that to really sink in. I dunno if I coulda pulled this outta my ass. She even made the cute little hat.)
Now, I can't find a pic of Jinkx's outfit anywhere but once I do, I'll be back to review it. Until then, I've already talked about the win. What I didn't talk about was Trinity plunging Yvie, therefore stopping that upward trajectory in its path!
Dammit! Well, Yvie has been saying all season that she wanted to me plunged so bad. Welp, ya got your wish! *laughs*
