Ninomiya keeps grinning because of a storm of compliments!?
Ninomiya Kazunari, who plays Aoshi, and Fukushi Sota, who plays Akaiwa, have a photoshoot in a set that represents their colors. (T/N: Ao = blue, Aka = red)
Ninomiya: Ah! Is that what it is!? This blue and red we’re surrounded by (laughs).
Fukushi: I see.
Ninomiya: The baseball club as a baseball club, whether it’s teachers or students, everyone is having fun with a good sense of sense of distance, right?
Fukushi: I think Ninomiya-san is someone who has a really good sense of his distance with a person.
Ninomiya: (triumphant look) Yup.
Fukushi: Strangely, he doesn’t behave like a senpai, so he’s easy to connect with. But he also has the absolute presence of a star…
At the storm of complements, Ninomiya says, “That’s how it is” and pats his own arms with a grin.
Fukushi: Ahahahaha (laughs)
Ninomiya: I’ll end up grinning because of that. We’re about ten years apart, but a filming set where various actors and actresses gather together is fun. Sota, in particular, is well-balanced.
Fukushi: Huh!
Ninomiya: The balance of his natural part and his dramatic part is amazing. That’s why no matter how many times we do the same scene together, I never get bored. Because each time is a little different, and he also spontaneously puts in things that aren’t written on the script. In the fifth episode, Akaiwa will become the focus, so there’s also difficult scenes, but he can do it. It’s not like he thinks, “I have to stick to this part”. Instead, I think he’s an actor that can think of going with the flow.
Fukushi: Uwaa~
Ninomiya: He’s amazing! That’s why I take care so that I won’t mess up (laughs)
Fukushi: I’m happy.
Ninomiya: There are few people who can properly hold a conversation, but Sota is a person who can do that.
Fukushi: Ah~ I don’t know what to do anymore (laughs). Same here, acting with Ninomiya-san is fun and I also learn a lot. There’s also times when I think about trying to imitate him a bit. I can’t help but have fun.
Ninomiya: But that will no longer be so, because I think from now on, Sota will become more of the focus and will be involved in various works. Here and there, you’ll suddenly say things like, “Ah, this role seems to suit Ninomiya-san” in front of the producer (laughs)
Fukushi: Eh, eeh~! I don’t know what’s the right answer for that (laughs). Because I’m still at the position where I’m being taught by Ninomiya-san. From now on, I also want to watch Ninomiya-san’s past works that I haven’t seen yet.
Ninomiya: You know, Fukushi, it seems like the GANTZ suits would look good on you. Because you can move well. I want to try doing it together, but I’m already out of shape (laughs)
Fukushi: No no, you’re strong!
Ninomiya: I look forward to Sota from now on. I also want to see him in a corrupted role. This time is fun, but it will also be interesting if we can co-star in a more serious production.
Fukushi: By all means. I absolutely want to co-star with Ninomiya-san again!!
Ninomiya: That’s it. For the sake of that, I have to do my best. Let's do business with each other here and there (laughs)
Fukushi: Got it (laughs)
Ninomiya: Let’s meet again after going around from one place to another!
~END~
Before translating this, I never realized how both Aoshi-sensei and Akaiwa had color-themed names. Haha! How fascinating.
Fukushi saying he wants to watch Nino’s past works also reminded me that I still have lots of past Nino (and other Arashi members) movies and dramas that I haven’t watched yet. Whoops. XD
