Here comes the snow....

Dec 13, 2007 14:02

The snow arrived right on schedule.  Predictions for for it to start at 11 am, get heavy by noon, and dump perhaps as much as 8" on us by the end of the day.  Sure enough, when I looked out my window at 11:03 am today, the snow was just starting.  By 12:00 it was coming down pretty heavily, and by 12:30 they closed my office.  Eight inches is a good amount of snow, but there isn't even half an inch of it on the ground here yet and everything is shut down, people are scared they won't get home, and all the bread/milk/etc has been bought up in the grocery stores.  I swear, people act like it's going to be weeks and weeks before they can get to the store again.

This should end tonight, but it won't melt right away as the weather is going to stay cold.  Then on Sunday they're predicting our first Nor'Easter of the season, which could drop up to 2' of snow on us....that's two FEET, not two inches.  Blech.  Jack stands about 8" high, so it should be interesting trying to get him outside to "do his business" over the next few days.

Ah well...I have the rest of the day off, though I have some work I really need to get done.  I'm going to relax for awhile, maybe knit, perhaps light the fireplace, and stay cozy in my apartment.
