It's not fair to be sick on vacation

Dec 23, 2007 17:11

I've been on vacation since Wednesday, though I spent the first couple of days running around to appointments, etc.  I had to have a followup mammogram and ultrasound (still not perfect, have to go back in 6 months), Jack has his annual vet appointment, I needed a manicure & pedicure, needed to get Jack's raw food, and so on.  Friday I was laid low by a horrible cold.  I've been so congested that I don't want to even move.  I've bought every decongestant known to man and I still can't breathe 3 days later.

Anyway, enough whining.  Tomorrow is Christmas Eve and I think I'm just staying home.  A good friend invited me to spend the holidays with her and her family but I don't trust the car to get all the way to her place.  Besides that, I don't want to pass this bug on to anyone else.  I'm not coughing or anything, but the congestion is awful.

So, I'm catching up on my reading and some knitting projects.  I have several almost finished sweaters sitting around, most just waiting for me to sew the pieces together and put on the collar.  I hate putting all the pieces together!  I also have several projects sitting around that I haven't even started yet, and I'm trying very hard not to start another one until these ones are put together.  Of course, it's cold here, so I've been doing little projects instead - a keyhole scarf, several calorimetry head coverings, hats, etc.

I need some motivation!
