hey guys! thanks for the mail! i havent gotten it yet but when i do, i will be very thankful. I mailed a few today also! Anyway, 2 days ago, the 4 of us girls decided to spend the night at CLA boys school, AKA, the ranch. Courtney was teaching a class at 8 30 the next morning so we thought that instead of her going alone to sleep the night, we would all go. We got there at about 6 pm and put our stuff into the guest cottages. We then walked to dinner with all the boys.

NOTE: i am uncertain if this has been previously said but CLA is Cornerstone Leadership Academy. They have a boys school and girls school. I am living and working at the girls school. The boys school is about an hour away from Matugga which is where the girls school is located. Matugga is about 20 min. outside of the capital city, Kampala.

Back to my story-ish. We ate dinner with the boys and they were VERY excited that females were on the property. It helped that we were white too. We returned to out cottage after quite a large meet 'n' greet. There is a girl called Megen who is in the Peace Corp and is staying at the ranch so we went to her cottage and invited her to come hang out. We decided that she probably hasnt communicated with many people since she is there alone. She came over and hung out, shes from New Mexico- in case you were curious, and is pretty cool. After a while, Tim and Hayden came in to hang out with us. Tim is the man who is a friend of my dads and runs both the girls and boys school. He is the head of Cornerstone in Uganda. Hayden, however, is a 20 year old australian guy who is doing the same thing as me,basically just helping out at the boys school, and has been here for 5 months. He is also QUITE easy on the eyes. Tim and Megan left at about 10 pm and Courtney and Kiersten went to Haydens to read and stuff since he was at our place, it was empty. So Hayden, Winter and I talked until about midnight. Winter went to bed some time in there. We talked a lot about Australia and he knew a lot of people that i knew (i.e. the Camerons and family friends). The next morning, Coco gave her lesson on integrity and it was awesome. There was this little boy-brian, who lives on the ranch because his mum is the cook. He was SO cute and he walked to the classroom with us and sat with me and we colored. We went back to our rooms and slept until 2 30 when we all hopped on the back of Tim's pickup and drove back into the city. It was the 4 of us girls, Hayden and Tim plus heaps of random Ugandans that Tim knew. We were exhausted after being at the ranch so we watched the In-Laws on Coco's (courtneys) laptop and slept the rest of the day. Today, we had fellowship with the CLA girls and then came into town. We went to lunch and the post office, we checked up on safari info and now we are at the internet cafe getting in touch with the outside world. I absolutely LOVE it here. it is so beautiful and there is never a schedule. If there is, it is never followed on time. Tomorrow, Kiersten, 7 of the girls, the head mistress, and I are going back to the ranch for some leadership workshops all day. it is so funny to see the guys reaction when we say that the girls are coming. they all get so excited. They girls ask ALL the time if they can come to the ranch with us. When we got back yesterday, i told the girls that the boys send their greetings and they all freaked out and screamed and giggled. it was VERy funny. Today, Monica, the head mistress, went to get one of the girls from her tribe. After their short break, she didnt return to the school and he tribe is one that practices a lot of witch craft. I dont know if i told you about the 2 girls who had been possessed, but she was one of them. Everyone has been SUPER worried about her but we were finally able to contact her and she will come back to the school today.

Something i have learned about 3rd world countries is that the news papers are HYSTERICAL. They say things such as "a man, only known as mulanga reported the president having an affair" or things like "a girl was spotted with her boobie dangling in the breeze while wearing a loose blouse." it is pretty funny to read the paper. they try to make everything very dramatic and it sounds so stupid. Anyway, i guess thats all i have to report. I am really excited to go to the ranch tomorrow. I get to ride a camel. pretty random but i think it will be fun.
