Thunder and Lightning
Well, I guess I shouldn't have complained about air conditioning. A short violent thunderstorm came along last night and knocked out the electricity to most of our area. I just got my computer back a few minutes ago. We read by flashlight and talked by lamp light. We slept in the steaming heat last night with no lights and no water. We had to take buckets of water from the pool to make the toilets flush. How spoiled I've gotten!
I slept downstairs in the spare bedroom and drove out my son ( there are two beds in there) with my snoring. I didn't sleep very well without my CPAP machine. Today it was a quick dip in the pool to clean off and out to adjoining towns to look for something to eat. I had to go to work for a few hours and enjoyed the lights and air conditioning.
In the evening I went to Mom's and used her big bathtub to soak in. It's amazing how problems seem solvable when you're clean. The power came back a few minutes before I returned home.I think we'll spend part of the weekend cooking some of the stuff that thawed out.
Now it's off to sleep in my own bed with my comforts of modern living!
