Heat Wave
I'm joining the rest of the country in simmering with the baking heat wave. I've slept in air conditioning for the past few nights, which I hate. But I am glad the power is available to do so. I hope it continues to do so.
I got my first summer squash out of the garden yesterday, with another on the way. I have a few vegetable plants among the flower beds. This lets me keep an eye out for them (there are some woodchucks who like veggies as much as I do living in the woods close by.) The last time I planted some tomatoes, I ended up with none. It all went to feed the gourmet tastes of the wildlife.
Bob and I are going on a lighthouse tour on Saturday. This is the tour which was canceled due to the weather two weeks ago. Hopefully no foul weather will interfere with it this time. I plan to pack my camera, sunhat and plenty of sunscreen. I love lighthouses and am looking to take lots of pictures.
Going out with my mom and sister-in-law for lunch today. It's great to be able to have a relationship with them. It's fun to talk and catch up on events in our families.
