So here's some of the other stuff I did when I was in Chicago. Went to the zoo, which was huge and free! I think the monkeys were my favorite. I walked the magnificent mile which is basically the downtown area. It has shops, hotels, and museums all down it. One museum has little pieces of other historical buildings in it which I thought was cool. Like pieces of the the Pearl Harbor fort, and castles, and stuff like that.
I also ate Chicago style pizza. So good. It's like a bowl of cheese and meat, and the bowl is the crust. drooling.
I saw Lake Michigan and the Sears Tower.
I didn't do a lot of touristy stuff. I still want to see the aquarium, museums, and the famous fountain (the one from the Married With Children opening) and of course meet Oprah.
I did get to see a play called That's Weird Grandma by Barrel of Monkeys. My friend Brennan was in it. It was sketch comedy inspired by stories and poems written by children. It was funny. I'm excited about all the theatres. Geez you couldn't turn a corner without running into a theartre, or a starbucks.
Right now I'm excited about living there, but I know the cold is coming, and the weather I experienced is just a trick to rope me in. It was actually pretty warm some days. T-shirt and jeans weather.
So now I play the waiting game, about my apartment.
I had a jewelry party today. 3 people showed up. 2 brought their kids. 1 bought something. :)
