Oh my God, Shealynn....my eyes are full of tears and I'm trying not to cry at the office! This was beautiful. I loved Lilly's voice, how the narrative followed both the pattern of a fairy tale and her own experience. The reader sees and feels a child's confusion, joy, etc.

You pretty much HAD me at the buenos nocheses to Senor Gato and Mantequillo. I want the Donut to be my daddy! *sobs*.

Great job! My new favorite fic!

Oh, that makes me so happy. :) Thank you so, so much! There was so much I wanted to get through in this, and it was really difficult, and I'm so glad you got the fairy tale feel and the child's perspective.

And I really wanted to spread the Duncan love, because I totally believe that he would be a great father.

Great job! My new favorite fic!

I'm speechless with the happy. Thank you so much!

You're very welcome! It was my pleasure to read. Even WITH the embarrassing getting-farklempt-in-public aspect of it. Heh.

I loved the way everything filtered through Lilly's perspective...from the cops coming to get her and Duncan, to Grace seeming like an adult when we know she's not just because she's so *comparatively* big, to her scenes with Backup...just...everything was perfect. And don't THINK I didn't notice the comfortable feel of a longterm W/V relationship. ;-).

(Decided my last comment was too squeeful. How weird is that?)

Anyhow...that W/V was totally a guilty pleasure on my part, but I managed to convince myself that the story worked best that way, what with Lilly being bilingual and all, and her needing acceptance for all those facets of her that the Mannings didn't like. See? I really did it totally for the story. Not at all selfish. No, really. :)

I loved including Backup. I wish I could have him in more stories, cuz I just...adore him. :)

Thanks so, so much for your loverly feedback. :)-

Of course, you know I still SAW your last comment, right? Heh.

And, uh-huh, you included Eli because he speaks Spanish. Right. Only because Lilly needed to communicate with someone. Right. Of course. Purely for the story.

*snerk*.

And, yes, Backup is a cutie patootie. I need to bring him back into "Between The Rock..." Surely he'll be jealous that his boyfriend Donald is now dating Veronica.

Yeah, I know you saw it, but you ALREADY know what a spaz I can be. I'm trying to play it cool...you know? LOL.

Hehe...you said 'cutie patootie.' I love you even more all of a sudden. If that's possible.

And ya know...Donald DOES seem to have a thing for sheep. Backup may be getting more than he realizes... ;)
