I took Kaedyn and Billy to the vet today. Dr. Wehe and I talked a lot about Kaedyn. He agreed that it would be compassionate to euthanize him. I held him while he fell asleep, and petted him while the vet injected him. It was quick ( Read more... )

Rats don't like quinoa as much as you'd think they would.

Oh well, next time, it's more apple sauce, I suppose.

Also, Kaedyn has a vet appt on Wednesday. I'm not sure what I mean when I say I hope it 'goes well.'

Flickr is trying something new, and is allowing non-Pro users to upload videos. I thought I'd give it a try, and so far, my video is "processing." When it's not processing, it'll be a cute video of Kaedyn looking for an almond that he knows I have, even though I don't. It's super-cute.

I went on vacation. I don't normally go on vacation, but... well, anyway, that's not important. I went away for the past week, and I had a friend looking after my rats. I took the fuzzhead to the vet yesterday morning. The vet gave me some antibiotics for him, since he's been really sneezy and squeaking when he breathes. He (the vet), also asked me about their bedding, thinking it might be an allergy, but I'm using cloth. I took a page out of embeth's playbook and have been giving the boys a little bit of soymilk via oral syringe every night when I give Kaedyn his meds. This means Gus gets some too.

Today I had him running around my room and hadn't yet washed out the syringes. A quick video of my thief, learning the game rather quickly...
