I took Kaedyn and Billy to the vet today. Dr. Wehe and I talked a lot about Kaedyn. He agreed that it would be compassionate to euthanize him. I held him while he fell asleep, and petted him while the vet injected him. It was quick.
Billy got weighed and poked and given some antibiotics (tribissen) for the abscess, which has gotten a very hard scab on it. I'm going to probably pick or pull the scab off tonight because there's some swelling going on in there, and I want that to go away. He weighs 370g-- he's gained about 50 grams in the last month.
When I got back home, Cole had taken to redecorating the cage. He filled the food dish with some tightly-packed bits of cloth, among other things. I think he will miss Kaedyn quite a bit. When Billy goes, I don't know what I'll do about him.
