Kis-My-Ft2 - Wink Up July 2014

Jun 25, 2014 00:00

Happy Birthday, Taisuke!!

It's Taisuke's birthday! I'm never good with these things, so it's going to be usual stuff. I hope he has a nice birthday. If it's at work, I'd really like to get some footage. You know, like backstage stuff if they're rehearsing for concerts? Because like, surely, they won't miss the chance of releasing the Dome Tour on DVD, right? Right? I think Taisuke's 26th year has been really good from Kamen Teacher to Russia to Colt Governments. Did you know that on the promotion posters for Russia DVD they put in Roppongi and Shibuya stations, there is a birthday cake beside the release date (today)? That's so cute. For the last show of Colt Governments at Kitakyuushuu, they released paper confetti and gold tape. That's kind of rare for regular stage play (or maybe, it's just my lack of information). But I just feel that Taisuke has really good opportunities, and he was loved by the staff he works with too. I hope that his 27th year will be just as well, considering he'll be starting it with KisuMai's Dome Tour!

...oh, I managed to write more than I thought.

Anyway, to end the birthday countdown!

My original plan had been to post the translation I posted yesterday for Taisuke's birthday, but then the July magazines came out and I read Wink Up's article and I thought it was really nice. It may not be as hilarious and ridiculous as the crosstalks yesterday, but I felt the whole letters theme would be nice for a birthday post, and well, it's a recent article! I figured it was a reason enough to switch things around. At least I didn't decide I wouldn't have time to translate to full regular magazine articles and did my best!

Translation. The theme was writing letters, so each member wrote a short "letter" to the rest of the group. From compliments to complaints to showing thanks to apologies to nothing special to say purposely in a letter, you can catch glimpses of the relationships between the members.

write a letter to member
Kis-My-Ft2

It’s been about 10 years since the seven members started to work together. This time, it was a photoshoot and interview based on the theme, “If you write a letter to members”. Please sense the feelings of the seven members.

Fujigaya Taisuke

To Kitayama
When we were Juniors, it was often, “anything and everything with the two of us”. Not just for singing, but for MC too, we’d be told to take charge with the two of us. I have memories of us always doing it without any preparation. Now, you’re in charge of MC within KisuMai, but I wonder when you started to have interest in MC-ing? What kind of MC are you aiming to be? Is Nakai-san your goal after all?

To Senga Kento
Thank you for always doting on my younger brother. Senga make a lot of airheaded comments naturally, and you get misunderstood because of that...you seem to be seriously worried about that, but watching you makes me feel on the edge too (laughs). That’s what makes Senga, and I’m an airhead too, so I can’t say things about you either. I think it’s a fine part of your personality!

To Miya
Since your character is good, when everyone is troubled, we tend to throw things in Miyata’s way. The strange pause that forms after that. Is that something natural? Or I wonder if it’s something handmade by Miyata (laughs). Every time that pause forms, I become a little curious. The other day, we went shopping after not having done so in a long time. Since we were in high school? It was shopping with the three of us, including Tama, and it made me remember those days, so it was fun. Let’s go again!

To Wataru
You really like me, yea. During the photoshoot just now, you completely had the lovey dovey aura shown and would come and make me laugh. Even when the editor would say to me, “Please give us a cool expression,” you’d come with the same tension, so I often feel troubled (laughs).

To Tama
Now that we’ve gotten closer, like how we’re clear about what we like and don’t like, and I’m going to say this, but we have our own principles...we have various things in common and I’ve come to feel that more now. We’ve talked about this the other day too, but the drama “Ikemen Desu ne” was fun. I really think it was great that we were able to work on that kind of drama together at that time. Also, Tama’s “small silly jokes” that you show in front of the camera every now and then - I love them (laughs).

To Nika
No matter how busy you are, how Nika, you can say, “Good morning!” energetically in the morning is really admirable. When I’m low in tension, there are times I get pulled along by you like that. When watching VTRs from “~BUSAIKU!?”, there are times I think, “Just what kind of romance dramas have you watched?” but I also think that it’s somehow Nika-like and cute. You’re surprisingly naive but think about things deeply too, so I want you to show me various sides of you from hereon too.

Tamamori Yuuta

To KitaMitsu
I can tell that you’re thinking, “As the oldest one, I have to pull everyone in KisuMai along,” and I’m always thankful for what you do. ...not once have I told you this before though (laughs). When we were Juniors, Mitsu was the first one among the older members to say to me, “Let’s exchange numbers.” At that time, you’d match topics with me, the younger one, when we have a conversation too. I respect Mitsu who can do things like that.

To Senga
You’re a natural airhead character, to the point it’s unbelievable, and ever since our group has been formed, such Senga has always made me laugh. You constantly have the god of laughter on your back (laughs). That’s why from now on too, you can’t aim to get laughter. Miyata, who bombs it almost 100% of the time when he tries to get laughter purposely, is an example after all.

To Miyata
Reply to my email now! It’s not just your replies are late, but when I email you, “For tomorrow’s survival game, what should we do?”, don’t go, “What shall we do?” and reply with a similar question~(laughs)! Also, even though you said, “I’ll research about it” when I ask you, “How was it?” you’d say, “Ah, I didn’t do the research yet”! Outrageous! Pull yourself together! That’s all - those were complaints (laughs).

To Wata
Wata, who is a responsible person. Within KisuMai, starting with me, there are many members who forget things, and for them, you’d even bring things that you don’t need yourself. You really saved everyone. I think that’s the embodiment of ultimate kindness. With me, I most certainly would borrow the smartphone charger from Wata. Thank you, always!

To Gaya
I often email with Gaya, and at work too, along with Wata, the three of us would often stick together. Now, you’ve become the member I meet the most in private. While eating, we’d talk about serious things, but you really think about the group, and I often receive motivation from talking with Gaya who is like that. I can only agree most of the time as I listen, but I’ve come to start and think about various things too!

To Nika
As usual, you’re mischievous. When we appear in variety shows, it’s clear that you’ve changed from when we just debuted. I can tell that you love variety shows. With “~BUSAIKU!?”’s VTRs though, there are many things I don’t understand and think, “Why would you do those sorts of things?”, so I seriously want to examine the insides of your brain (laughs). “Someone you can’t hate” - you fit those words perfectly.

Kitayama Hiromitsu

To Senga
Yesterday, we talked on the phone too. It was about work, and it was a long call for about an hour. Senga is serious and you have more than enough energy too, so there are times I wonder what can we do about that energy. I think that energy will become power for KisuMai too. Ah, lastly, a super personal message...the thing I lent you yesterday, please return it soon.

To Miyata
When you’re angry, when you’re feeling regret, when you’re drowning - your face looks the same and it’s funny, so I can’t help but laugh (laughs). I think you just don’t realize it, but you probably have times when stress builds up too. It’s important to let that out at times. What I put into practice is giving myself something that’s like a reward. That can be having a delicious meal, watching an anime you like, or singing anime songs.

To Yokoo-san
Lately, you’re baking bread, making bacon, you seem to have awaken to cooking...moreover, elaborated ways of cooking. In “~BUSAIKU!?” too, when it’s themes related to cooking, you’re exceptional too. Since you’ve gained some skills, it’s about time you try remembering performances like, “a cool way to put in salt”. How about it (laughs)?

To Fujigaya
You'd put something into a plastic bottle of water and make this liquid with intense colour and drink it, but what is it? I’m really curious about it, but I still haven’t asked about it (laughs). I wonder if you’re worried about not getting enough vegetables. I feel that I don’t eat enough vegetables too, so I’m really interested. When eating out, I’m conscious of it and try to order salads, but that probably isn’t enough. Next time, please tell me what it is.

To Tama
The other day, I was looking at older magazines, but it feels like you were a different person. Lately, you’ve become really manly and cool in a good way. Also, as usual, you’re good with “~BUSAIKU!?” To be honest though, “it’s because it’s Tama” - I’m suspecting that there’s a “Tama Advantage”. Even if Nikaido or I do the same thing, there’s a huge possibility we’d get beaten over it (laughs). I believe it’s Tama’s charm though that it doesn’t turn out that way.

To Nika
When appearing in variety shows, it seems like you’re aiming to be what we call “gaya” for those that sit on tiered platforms as guests, but you’re too voracious (laughs). [Note: It’s a bit hard to explain, but people sitting on chairs/platforms during variety shows separate from MCs - that area is called ひな壇/hinadan. There are often people who do “ガヤ/gaya” which is like making and slipping in comments and such somewhat loudly, and those that usually do that are comedians. I think it’s a Japanese variety kind of thing.] I like that courage of Nika’s though. Instead of staying in the background, you’d push yourself forward...I think doing about that much is good. While fumbling along as you do that, one day, you’d definitely find your own style. I look forward to it!

Senga Kento

To Kitayama Hiromitsu
Thank you, always. There’s the fact that Hiromitsu is the oldest too, but from my point of view, I think you’re really an adult. Your way of thinking is very mature too, and I respect how you’d pull back a bit and watch everyone. Hiromitsu, who always think about our group, is very cool. Thank you, always!

To Miyata Toshiya
Thank you, always. I’ve once written a letter to Miyata as a surprise before, yea? When I read it during our radio show, you were very happy. I, who wrote it, was very happy too. No matter what kind of unreasonable thing (as a joke) I make you do, you’d return it with all your might~ You’d bomb it with that too, and it’s heartwarming (laughs). It’s because Miyata is kind that you’d respond like that - I know it. From now on too, please take care of me. Thank you, always!

To Yokoo Wataru
Thank you, always. I think Yokoo-san feels it too, but we surprisingly have quite a bit in common, yes? That’s why I can sympathize with what Yokoo-san does and your opinions too. Our hobbies are similar as well, so really, I think that it’d be nice if we can hang out more in private. From hereon too, let’s get along with each other even more than before. Thank you, always!

To Fujigaya Taisuke
Thank you, always. I think that Gaya-san is someone that is like an older brother to me. I’m really happy that you always dote on me, like a younger brother. I’m like this, so during work and in private too, there are times I may cause trouble for you, but please be my good older brother from hereon too! Please take care of me. Thank you, always!

To Tamamori Yuuta
Thank you, always. From before, I’ve always been together with Tama~ When we were Juniors, we’d go to work together and we often hung out in private as well. That’s why, it’s embarrassing to write a letter like this (laughs). Lately, I feel that Tama has confidence and pulls KisuMai along. You’re very cool doing that!! From hereon, please take care of me too. Thank you, always!

To Nikaido Takashi
Thank you, always. Good and bad, there had been many things (laughs). During all the experiences we had, I’ve been supported by Nikaido’s personality, which is always bright and energetic. Nikaido’s existence brightens and shines on my heart. Please be Nikaido who is filled with energy from now on too. Also, let’s fool around together more and more! Thank you, always!

Nikaido Takashi

To Kitayama Hiromitsu
Mitsu is always watching over KisuMai and pulls everyone along. I’m sure that you know that I’m aiming and doing my best to be “Johnnys Gayadol”. [Note: Gaya is as explained in Kitayama’s letter to Nika. Gayadol is gaya x idol] And you’re watching over me, right? I’m thankful for that kindness. From hereon too, I think there will be times I’ll cause you all sorts of trouble, but please take care of me! Thank you for always, always supporting me.

To Senga-san
I really do have a deep relationship with Senga-san, yea. I have lots of fun with just Senga-san being together with me. You’d always go along with my silly gags and you’d fool around with me too. It’s because of Senga-san’s existence, even if something terrible has happened, I can do my best. Thank you for laughing together with me.

To Miyata
Cut it out! ...the meaning of these words, if it’s Miyata, you’d get it (laughs). Well, honestly, for a letter to Miyata, I can’t think of a~nything more than this. What should I do (laughs)? We’ve spent a long time together, and I don’t think it’s anything to write about deliberately, so I won’t look back on things here. For the time being, please take care of me from hereon all the way!

To Yokoo Wataru-san
Even among all the strong characters within KisuMai, I know that Watta is funny! I think you haven’t shown that funny side of yours completely, but I wonder how Watta feels. I know that you’re funny though, so I’m watching you properly. Lately, you’re working harder and harder with cooking, right? Keep making the best use of your cooking, which you can call your special ability.

To Gaya
Gaya-san is a bit too cool! Why are you that cool? During filming for “~BUSAIKU!?” when I watch Gaya-san’s VTRs, I always feel impressed. During photoshoots for magazines like this too, somehow, you’re always calm. Gaya-san, who has that mature calmness, I think even guys would think you’re cool. How can I be that cool (laughs)?

To Tama
Tama, lately, you’ve gotten much cooler. You just keep getting cooler and cooler. Surely, it’s because you do things like doing a drama by yourself, and experience various different things. I think that such Tama is KisuMai’s ace. From now on too, please keep pulling us along strongly! This~fashionable leader~♪

Miyata Toshiya

To Kitayan
When you’ve eaten something delicious, thank you for saying, “Let’s go together next time,” and inviting me. But the other day, I was surprised when you said, “Let’s go eat pheasant meat” (laughs). You have finally reached out to things that I can’t imagine the taste for. I want you to keep going like this and aim to be a gourmet “Little Nagano (Hiroshi)-kun”.

To Sen-chan
Sen-san, Kento-kun, Kenpi, Senga, Senga-san...I’m sorry for calling you various names. No matter what I call you though, how you would turn around quickly is like a dog and it’s cute (laughs). Before, you have written a letter to me once. That was my first time getting a letter from a KisuMai member. I was really happy and even now, I have it displayed in my bedroom.

To Yokoo-san
Lately, among my friends, they say, “Yokoo-kun is funny,” and you’re seriously by far, No.1 in popularity. Even though you were so touchy five years ago, now I really feel that you have mellowed out a lot. You didn’t just mellow out, but you became playful too, and you give an aura that allows for us to retort back too. Please keep being KisuMai’s lovable character and keep a stable level of popularity.

To Gaya-san
The other day, thanks for inviting me to go to an accessory shop with you. I was surprised that the goods in the shop didn’t have price tags attached to them (laughs). Gaya-san explained a lot of things to me though, and without any problems, I was able to buy a pair of fake glasses, piercings, and bracelet that I like. Gaya-san tends to get misunderstood as someone who is cool-headed, but the fact that you’re normally kind and approachable - I want more people in the world to know about it.

To Tama
It seems like you complained about the arrangements for the survival game, but I’ll say this too then - Tama, please stop leaving your gun for survival games at my place. Not to mention it’s a huge gun over 2m, so it has a really strong presence and it gets in the way. For the time being, let’s go play survival games again. Also, I want to do barbeque with the Tamamori family again. When we did it last time, I was chased by Tama’s relative’s kid while the kid had a water balloon in one hand (laughs).

To Nikaido
We’ve been working together for about 10 years already. During these ten years, I’m impressed about Nikaido touching my butt for no reason during filming and how you keep messing around with me. I’m glad I’m not Nikaido’s kouhai...I really feel that way from the bottom of my heart (laughs). I understand that “messing around = love” though, so that part of Nikaido is a good thing about you.

Yokoo Wataru

To Mitsu
One way or another, we’ve spent a long period of time together. When we were high school students, we hung out almost every day. After becoming part of the same group, we argued sometimes too (laughs). You being the mature one though, always gave in. It’s been such a long time, but I’m sorry. Also, thank you. Lately, the people we hang out with have changed, so we don’t really go out for food anymore, but let’s go every now and then! Also, it seems like you play futsal, right? I’m a guy who’s pretty useful!

To Kento
When you were young, you probably hated me. To have been made to do so many silly things though, of course that would be the case (laughs). Five minutes before a show for SUMMARY, when it was done in Shinagawa, to my sudden request of, “Do something funny,” you said, “I’ll put nattou on my face!” and at that moment, I desperately tried to stop you (laughs). I was shocked by that dauntlessness. Now, you are my dance teacher. I’m relying on you, so please take care of me from hereon too!

To Miyata
On the day of our audition, my partner for stretching was Miyata. That day, I would have never guessed that I’d have a CD debut together with that partner. Moreover, become a unit as Busaiku too (laughs). Speaking of which, lately, I feel that I haven’t been seeing Miyata’s slightly gross “wotagei”... Please show me that valiant figure of yours on TV again.

To Taisuke
I don’t really have anything special to say to you here. That’s because we’re in love with each other, and we understand each other, and moreover, we email each other every day (laughs). This is something I’ve said numerous times, but when I was a Junior, you stopped me when I was troubled over whether to quit the agency or not. It’s thanks to you that I am here now. Thank you.

To Yuuta
When KisuMai was formed, we were both defiant and there was also the fact we had opposite personalities, so it was difficult for us to deal with each other. Despite how we had such a relationship, now, it’s like we’re trying to make up for that time, and we email each other almost every day and would go for food and such. Now that time has passed, I understand that Tama is someone who really works hard on things.

To Nika
We’re four years different in age, but Nika joined the same time as me. From being just a brat, I’ve watched you grow to an adult who can be considerate for others. Especially with the stage show “Gineiden”, watching your manners and consideration for people around you, I respected you. That stage show has become a large source of power for us. Let’s have the things we’ve learned from that stage show explode out somewhere!

Hope people enjoyed this~
