Mmm boy

Well, I'm all set up in Tampa... finally, after so much stress, preparation, and waiting! And I now have 24 hour internet access again >:3 How I've missed you, Tabris.

Everything's pretty much unpacked and set up. I also got a new computer chair, book shelf, media cabinet, and storage cabinet, which Kailey and Ren spent long hours assembling for me while I was distracted by the TV worked on other things. I'm still putting up the stuff on the wall and trying to make everything look nice... but it's otherwise all done. And for some reason, I'm already feeling right at home.

I've spent the past month or so at my grandma's, finishing up school and loafing around. I'm pretty pleased with my final grades; three As (one an A+) and one B-. I'd been stuck on a 2 As/2 Bs streak, so I was pretty damn pleased that I was able to step it up a bit. I got a little worried when I had mistook the time of my French Final and showed up with 15 minutes left to take the test (and no study time), but I somehow miraculously scored higher on it than the midterm. I still remained stunned.

Also, I saw Rent three times while it was in town :'D Yeah, I'm insane. I've gone crazy with movies before, but this is the first time I've seen a touring broadway musical more than once (more than twice!) in the same week. I felt like a total nutter but it was SO worth it, especially since I got to see the cast rotate around a bit. Saw two Joannes, two Collins..ses, and two Angels (Saturday seemed to be understudy night), so it was different experience each time. Mimi also decided to add a creative spin on the lyrics of one of the songs, crooning "would you light my handle" on my third foray. Brilliant!

I got a few pictures with some of the cast, too. Benny, Collins, Angel, and an Asian person from the ensemble :O I waited by the stage door on the second night, but no one besides crew members came out. So no Mark or Roger for Shan :( Really though, can't complain... it was an amazing, Rent-filled week indeed.

Following that, Sarah and I went to see Avenue Q (was funny, but we missed like 40 minutes of it because we underestimated the drive time) in Daytona and spent the next few days there at my mom's timeshare. I made an announcement on Facebook about it, pretty much inviting anyone we knew to join us, but mysteriously, few people seemed interested. Willie and Iris stopped by for one night, and we relaxed for the rest of the weekend. It ended up being pretty chill.

The second night we were there, we went to this "Tour Bethlehem" thing that the local church had set up, and it was IN. SANE. I expected something small and amateurish, maybe a carnival, but they really went all out... there were merchant's stalls, the inn, animals running around, the Roman soldiers on horseback, the shepherds, the villagers... the "angel of the lord" part was a little ghetto (lol, angel w/ acne), but the rest was badass. My mom sent me a text message in the presence of the baby Jesus, too. Idk how to describe the set-up, but it was similar to the haunted houses at Halloween Horror Nights... but with a bible theme and nothing scary jumping out at you, obv.

On the third day we did the typical tourist stuff, swam (it was kinda cold and foggy out, but the pool was heated), laid on the beach, walked around in the shops, and had a massive feast of junk food. Willie and I split an order of 10 wings, but when we opened the box there were only 9 inside. We decided to be cheap and walked back to the restaurant, and they gave us 5 more wings free. Then we watched Spirited Away and some overly dramatic Ray-J reality show thing. And oh man, some weird, funny shit goes on at Daytona Beach at night, like an unexplained pile of poop in the doorway of a pizza parlor we almost walked through, and this drunk guy wandering around in the middle of the road with his arms out in front of him like Frakenstein's monster.

So that's basically what I've been up to. I still have some things I'd like to do before I head back to Orlando for Christmas... get my bearings in the neighborhood, and find out where the closest Publix is, or whatever. I'll try to upload some pics once everything's all done.

So, what have I missed? Has anyone done a massive Friend's Cut? Any drama? Anyone get a sex change (or a rename token)? Fill me in!
