Okay first thing's first

OMG RENT omg omg OH MY GOD

I've seen the movie, I've seen the filmed version of the actual play

and they just

Do not compare to seeing it live.

And really, I just can't see anyone else but Anthony Rapp as Mark. He is THE Mark, and I feel like it was worth every penny from my broke-ass pockets to see him in the touring company live with Adam Pascal. And to be so close, too... and just... holy balls... NO WORDS YOU GUYS. AND TO TOP IT ALL OFF I GOT TO HUG THE CRAP OUT OF THE ACTOR WHO PLAYS COLLINS (my favorite!) AFTER THE SHOW.

I love The Lion King like it's my GOD but that. It gave it a run for its money.

Lol AIDS and everything but it was a poignant way to spend World AIDS day. I was so moved that I donated down to the last penny of the cash in my wallet to their charity (Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS).

And my god. Did I cry. I cried like a little bitch AND I LOVED IT.

So yeah, if Rent's coming to your area and you don't despise it (I know some people do, lol), I highly, highly recommend going. Rapp and Pascal aside, as great as they are, the whole company did a spectacular job, crew included. Don't miss out!!

On a side note, here's a quick little update regarding Tampa: Sarah and I moved all our stuff in on Sunday, unpacked some of it (mostly in the kitchen and bathroom; we're still a little unsure of how to arrange the long, narrow living room or our bedroom), but we'll deal with that later. I'm just immensely relieved that all that's left at this point is to wait for our official move-in date in a few weeks!

Oh, and I got a new phone, too! Same number and everything, but an actual different phone rather than a replacement for my four-year-old Samsung Blade that I've busted or lost, oh... three times I think? It's an LG Rumor with a flip-out keyboard (finally) and I love it!

Thanksgiving went well. We had it at Sarah's mom's with our families and some friends. It was peaceful and delicious, but I filled up way too fast! The next day I helped decorate the inside of my mom's place; Sarah came over after work to help with the tree. We'll be doing the outside soon enough, same for my Gran's. I also got to experience Black Friday for the first time, too. My mom got a flat screen, it's teeny though.

Sneaking on the internet while my grandma's asleep, whoo. But I just had to share my spastic joy with you, f-list. Shan is a fag for theatre and damn proud of it, yes indeed.

Okay, hiatus continued. xD

moving, fangirling, tampa, technology, theater, incoherent rambling
