...about my hair.
It was henna day here at Villa Vendwen, and kids, I finally did it:
all red, totally red, and nothing but the red. (And yes, for those of you who have just tuned in, it is, in fact, called "caca," and the experience is not unlike having a gigantic cowpat on your nogging for several hours. Except the smell is more like a very green field, with no cows or cow by-products in sight.) I've been mixing the red with the brown and the maron, but I screwed up my courage and went for it. Hey, it's summer--I don't teach for another month. Two and a half more hours to go: will report in the morning.
And for those who are sceptical, I can attest that Lush's
Reincarnate solid shampoo really does work. I started using it before I did the full henna, and after a week or two I started seeing a lot more reddish glints in my hair. The solid shampoo is a lovely experience (I do not recommend the solid conditioner, however), and I've been using the same bar for...gosh, about eight months now, I'd say? And I still have half of it in the drawer. It's a fairly exotic scent, but not too heavy, and not at all musky. I can't tell you how many strangers have actually come up to me and said, "Um, hi? Can I just tell you that you smell good?" since I started using it. Win/win!
