[ooc: Open to all. Mansion students may assume Mike brought them by Blackbird (and also that they were roped in to helping set things up). Magical transport was provided to anyone who needed it! As with all Mike arranged parties, Cassidy Keep is temporarily under Sanctuary wards, and no violence will be possible inside it. Do try not to stumble

You should always invite the bad fairy to your parties - if you don't she gets pissed and curses the birthday boy/girl and then you wind up with thorns and eternal sleeps and dragons and all SORTS of trouble.

Illyana was invited. So that's at least one horrible crisis averted.

She stays off to one side, watching everyone else and sometimes pulling at her sleeves - not quite a teenager but not quite ageless, she's never very good in social situations.

Sally is carrying glasses of some raspberry punch thing when she finds Illyana again.

"I brought you something to drink!"

Sometimes Sally can be very obvious. It's part of her charm. Sort of.

"Are you gonna be staying over cause I totally have room in my room. We could have a sleepover!"

Illyana accepts the drink and smiles.

"Oh, I would not want to intrude on the time you have with Terry. Besides... the castle feels... well. It is very old. And cold. And I think it might be haunted."

She sips her punch. "This is good."

Sally has a feeling that her friend feels the place differently than most of them do. That Illyana might be more in touch with certain supernatural things than the rest of them.

"Does it not resonate well with you?"

That worries her a little. She doesn't want her friend to be uncomfortable here.

Sally is probably the most perceptive friend Illyana has, after Mike. Or maybe she read all those totally on-crack issues of X-Men and Gen X too...

She smiles a little. "Oh, no. It is fine. It is a very fine old place. It is strange to think it belongs to Terry."

That's because Sally listens and tries to understand. It's a possibility!

"I think she's still kinda getting used to it being hers." It's a link to a man Terry doesn't know as well as she wants to. Or so Sally thinks anyway.

"It's part of her past and she's got to figure out how to make it part of her present and future, I think."

Illyana thinks that one over, slowly sipping her punch.

"Like all of us," she says finally.

"True."

Sally links her arm with Illyana's and looks around the room. "Are you gonna stay in the corner all night?" Not that it would necessarily be a bad thing... "I can give you a tour of the grounds if you want. I know where the cliffs are so we won't fall off."

"Cliffs?"

That sounds interesting.

"And no, I will not stay in the corner ALL night. ...I will have to use the bathroom sometime."

Sally shakes her head in amusement.

"Yes, cliffs. They drop down to the water. It's like a straight shot. And there are some field like things. They probably have a specific name. Not sure if they're moors in Ireland or not. You can see all the stars from them." She had laid out in them a lot when she'd been here last year.

"Oh and the Keep is fun to explore. Lots of rooms. You can get lost easily. Which is fun cause you have to find your way out."

Illyana sighs. "I would rather not get lost," she says. "I have had enough of that to last a lifetime. Maybe two."

She shrugs. "You do not have to entertain me, Sally. This is a time for fun."

"Entertaining you IS fun, yana," Sally protests and sips her drink. "Besides I'm here to hang out with my friends. You are one of those so I was offering ideas of what to do."

And she's finished her drink. A waited quickly gets her a new one. "I can stop suggesting though and just people watch for a bit." She tastes her drink and makes a face. "...I think this one has alcohol..."

Illyana tilts her head to one side.

"Do you not drink because of your parents?"

Sally gives the drink to a passing waiter and shrugs.

"Basically. Since my dad was an alcoholic I've heard I could easily become addicted. I don't really see a reason to chance it. Most people say it doesn't even taste all that great."

Illyana shrugs. "Some things do. And it is true you could carry the potential for alchoholism. But you might not. I do not care if you do not drink... just do not live in fear. I think that is important."

[skids_sally]

"I don't think I live in fear of that happening. I just don't see the point in having one. If I go to a wedding or something maybe I'll try a glass of champagne but it's not really on my list of priorities." Sally shrugs. "I wish some people didn't drink as much as they do."
