My family is silly

This morning I told Mike and The Turnip I wanted to make a printable 'Pin the Tail on the Fairy' game. Mike and The Turnip informed me fairies don't have tails. I said "Yes, they do. You've never heard of fairy tales?"
Mike groaned, Turnip laughed, and laughed some more, and since Mike did not laugh, she tried to explain to him why it was funny. Which made me laugh.

Yesterday we were finally able to do something for Dad's and William's b-days. Because my dad is a very picky eater who tends to be on par with your average 6 yo for taste, we chose a local diner that's been around for the last 40 years that specializes in the sort of American food that makes greasy spoons greasy. They always have smiling waitresses and some of the best bad coffee around and they make some of the best skillets and sandwiches around town. The Turnip ordered a waffle that was supposed to come with whipped cream and didn't. She was trying very hard not to be disappointed and I just went and asked. The waitress filled a bowl up with whipped cream which made my darling daughter very happy. When you're 14 you like such things. Pecan waffles with tons of whipped cream. Dad ate well and everyone was happy.
Before that, we met them up at Bosco's, and I handed William some money and said "Happy Belated Birthday from Mike and I." William was thrilled and got himself some Warhammer miniatures and more paints.
You know how you get songs stuck in your head? Last night I had Wild Wild West by Kool Moe Dee and Star Trekkin' by The Firm in my head, which led to a very silly conversation about James West meets James Kirk. Since so many of you write fic, I'll just leave it at that since whatever your picturing is probably even funnier.

love, family, anchorage, silly, buy alaska
