Weekend of Happily Busy
Friday night we had dinner with some friends, who also happen to work on the con. It was a lovely night with non con related talk, a little SCC Winter Event talk, delicious Mexican food, alcohol drinks, new puppy friends, and relaxing. It really was delightful and a lovely treat.
Saturday Lynn was up super early and off to get tickets for the play that night. I woke up a bit later and took Quicksilver up to have the spark plug looked at since it was throwing oil everywhere and making a mess. I asked Current Potential to pick me up and left the car there. We went back to his place and spent time together. He dropped me off at home when he had to head off to his gaming session. Lynn and I went up to collect my car and then stopped in at Double Dave's for dinner. Then it was off to Miller for a Anthony and Cleopatra. Every single year I expect the very best and I'm never disappointed; the group that puts on the Shakespeare Festival is simply amazing. I really wish we'd been able to catch As You Like It as well but perhaps next time.
Sunday we hit the field for fighter practice since we'd missed the last two weeks and really need to get back into it for the event this coming weekend. I'd hoped to have my dress finished so I could take it for a test run, so to speak. But I royally messed up the seam and have to pick it out. I 'need' it done by Friday so I'll have it for this weekend. At one point during practice I fell down "dead" and managed to plant my shoulder in a fire ant mound, they had a feast! I didn't play dead for very long at that point.
I got word that my spinning wheel is finished so I'm hoping to pick that up tonight or tomorrow. Wednesday is a meet up with some of my volunteers for a drink at Sherlock's Pub. Friday we'll be heading out to the LARP event. Looks like I won't have a whole lot of free time to dither about if I'm going to get that dress finished. :grin:
Overall the weekend was pleasantly full, not too much, not too little. That's always a nice balance.
