I've really been neglecting my poor LJ. ::pets:: So, what
have I been up to these past few months? Well, I've taken on more
fandoms to lurk in than I can really handle, for one thing. CSI, SGA,
Numb3rs...but I really can't help myself.
I'm going to a free screening of RENT
on Monday evening and I can walk from work, which should be fun.
Yay for free. Yay for RENT. And speaking of RENT, loved the recent
HP/RENT crossover ficlet by
ofscarletwoman,
New York City, Center of the Universe [PG-13]. Who wouldn't love Colin Creevey/Mark Cohen?
copperbadge wrote Rome-fic!
Not rated, not titled, but if you have been keeping up with as graphic
a show as Rome, any fic you read will probably be tame by comparison.
The ficlet is
here
and from the point-of-view of one Titus Pullo. Ray Stevenson really
shines as Pullo, and they had better bring everyone back (well, with
the exception of Julius Caeser, obviously) for the next season.
The writers in the SGA
fandom are really top-notch. If you're smart enough to try and
tackle those characters, you probably have the talent to do it
well. But oh,
astolat's McKay/Sheppard,
Time in a Bottle
[explicit] is so incredible, I was struck speechless after reading
it. Masterful is all I can say of that work of art. If that
doesn't win you over to that pairing, nothing will.
SGA fanart? ::dies:: I mean manips are all well and good, but
Sheppard #9 by
crysothemis is priceless. As is
Sheppard #10 and OMG,
Zelenka! I'm always in awe of the great artists, and she uses only pencils!
Not only that, but
commodoresexual has started writing SGA! Must keep up with
Burnt, more McKay/Sheppard with Zelenka/ MC.
Numb3rs! I hold so much love
for this show. Peter MacNicol is so wonderfully quirky, and David
Krumholtz and Rob Morrow are so great to watch. Those two make
perfect brothers. I love the Eppes family dynamic. And am I
the only person who thinks someone should write post-Convergence
Charlie/Marshall Penfield? Okay, maybe I am. I'm certainly
not brave enough to take that on.
Last week my aunt shot her scene for House, M.D.
She only gets a line or two, but hopefully those precious lines won't
end up on the cutting room floor. ::crosses fingers:: She did
have a bit of juicy news to tell me. Going to the table reading
for the episode (and I find it immensely amusing that a show that is
supposed to take place in NJ is actually filmed in the middle of Los
Angeles), she said that Chase is cute as a button, Foreman and Cameron
are very attractive, and Robert Sean Leonard is such a cutie. The
two who really blew her away were Cuddy (she said she turned around and
WHAM, this 'flippin' drop-dead gorgeous' woman is in front of her and
looking a million times better than she looks on TV) and, not
surprisingly, Dr. Gregory House himself. She said Hugh Laurie is,
and I quote, 'soooo HOT'. She
said it was a lot of fun, but a lot of hard work. Not surprising,
considering it's one of the best shows on television.
CSI! Yes, I have succumbed to the wonder that is CSI.
I haven't watched a #1 rated show in ages, and luckily this one is in
syndication so I can watch at least two hours of it everyday. I
used to avoid network TV like the plague, but there are a few gems on
network TV nowadays. It is a fun show to watch and I love all the
characters, though I hold a bit more love for Grissom, Hodges, and
Ecklie because I'm weird like that.
I really should try to post more often so each post doesn't end up being a page long. ::sigh::
