58. Belle de Jour: Diary of an Unlikely Call Girl, Anonymous
So a woman working as a call girl in London started a blog as a sort of public diary about her life. This book comes from that blog. I would recommend it to most anyone except my mother. Or my nieces. Until they're graduating from high school, at least. Fascinating, well-written and a quick read.
I had the day off today, so I swung up to the UDistrict, as I threatened. I now have shiny new books that don't have to be returned for a month, but I hope to be back in a couple weeks, tops. We'll see if I can get through them with any speed. I haven't been so great on the speed reading lately, but that has to do with me being a bit read-out.
Now off to get some typing done. Because I have deadlines! I am giving myself until the end of the month for typing/revising one short story and completing the first draft of another. Two weeks. We'll see how well this meshes with the research. I want to send out at least one, preferably two short stories before we leave for the honeymoon at the end of October. Ideally, by the new year I want a total of four short stories sent out for hopeful magazine publication and a second draft completed of my urban-fantasy-in-Japan novel (aka: Remi...really need to figure out a real title for this one). I'll see how this goes...
