Hey, you know what's a great thing to do a google search for? "Egyptian tomb cymbalism" :headddesk:. On the plus side, it did pull up some interesting sites about instruments in the ancient world, but still, not quite what I was aiming for.
This would be why the short story "Symbols Are a Percussion Instrument" by Tanya Huff has my all-time favorite title ever.
This is also why I still find it mildly hilarious that I seem to have acquired a semi-regular writing gig.
This is also why communicating on the internet, especially with people that I don't know personally kind of bothers me. It's all written word, and while I love to read, and even enjoy writing, I just don't feel like I'm communicating effectively without visual aids. Or, at the very least hand gestures. There's this whole rant that's been tumbling around in my head for a while now about ways people suck at communication, especially when they can't see/hear each other that I keep meaning to write up--except my airplane analogy would probably work a lot better with me waving my hands around instead of describing.
Anyways. Back to making myself security blankets visual aids.
