Life from the other end of the spectrum.

I'm currently sitting at the Computer Room at Trinity College; reflecting on what I've encountered over the last 6 nights/ 7 days. It's funny how when in a foreign (now not so) environment, we somehow manage to acclimatise and blend in. I've met people from many walks of life and it's been eye-opening and enriching in every way thinkable.

The flight was so super long, agonising and it left us wondering when we could ever reach! Customs were fair, didn't pry into our stuff.

The bulk of our 61-person strong Creative Thinking Summer School participant community come from my homeland Malaysia, Singapore and India. There also are Brunei students and Aboroginese girls. All of us have been split into mentor groups and study groups. Mentors are the coolest people you get from the most diverse of backgrounds. There's Lerato (my mentor), Juliet Jessie (Ida's), Mmilidzi aka Chris (Andrea's), Maleik, Belinda, Jeffrey and JK (Ju Kuong). Study groups are fairly larger, we're all split into 4 groups. Some classes can be unbelievably boring and draggy, what more when scheduled for the afternoon slots. I have about 3-4 lectures a day, covering 4 compulsory modules: International Relations (not my cuppa), Dramatic Narratives (fun stuff), Global Issues and Cultural Narratives. We also have common lectures at the Engineering, Medical, Architecture and Law faculties scheduled.

People here are awesome. Thankfully, I've been able to break out of the protective shell and befriend a fair number of people but there never fails to be a bad egg or two. I usually stay up for midnight feasts and conversations because it is pretty much fun-filled. I've had emotion pent up but it isn't getting to me, homesickness.

**more to come when time permits. i have class in 14 minutes.**
