The doorbell rings a little after eleven. Nate groans, fumbling for a pillow to bury his head with. When he can’t find one, he settles for pushing at Raylan’s body until he can worm halfway underneath him and sigh irritably.
When the doorbell rings again, Nate whines, and Raylan laughs softly. He trails his fingers down Nate’s spine slowly, then up again, and fingers a bite on Nate’s shoulder delicately. “You can quit pretending you’re asleep now.”
“It’s just the Jehovah’s Witnesses again,” Nate mutters bitterly, clenching his eyes tight and trying to get as close to the bed, and Raylan as possible. “If we ignore them, they’ll go away.”
“The cars are in the drive,” Raylan says lightly. He doesn’t stop petting Nate, and Nate thinks that maybe he can go back to sleep. “They’ll know we’re home.”
“Ignore them,” Nate mutters, tipping his head to nip at Raylan’s side lightly. “Nicer than saying ‘fuck off’ anyways.”
Even Raylan makes an annoyed sound when the doorbell goes off again, but he stretches out lazily before settling into Nate’s side, wrapping an arm around and dragging him close. “Fine,” he sighs, and Nate hides his smile against the sheets.
