New News is Good News

OK so a lot has gone one this weekend. But for purposes of convenience, we're going to define weekend as "college weekend" (ie starting Thursday).
So: Thursday
For those of you who didn't catch the part where Baby Honda was rear ended again, I shall recap. Actually, I just did. Either way, that started musical cars in my family. Because I didn't want to drive her anymore (fears the car was possessed, etc), I was getting a different car. And because Baby Honda with the dinged back is still nicer than Hank (Mikey's car), Mikey said he'd sell Hank and take over the Baby Honda with the salvage title. Which left me wondering what I was going to do. See previous post about girl screwing me over and fast-forward to Thursday, when I went in to sign the papers FOR MY NEW CAR. That's right. I found one. She's a 96 Toyota Camry, she's silver-blue (I swear I was not looking for blue cars) and she has air conditioning and lots of storage space for the cross country trip. I'm very excited.
Friday:
For anyone who's known my family a few years, you may know our van was totalled when a drunk, uninsured, unlicensed, and-we believe-undocumented driver slammed into it, almost killing my dad. We'd been driving another van since, but that van was dying fast. On Friday, our deal was accepted on a new van. Well, again, a new-to-us van. Except it's not really new to us. It's the exact same van we had-except SE instead of LE and 3 years newer. But let's answer the important question first-it DOES have the second row of bucket seats, so we are ON for another round of "Sibling Leg Squish" whenever we continue Harry Potter.
Mikey also got home and around 11:30, we all-Mom, Dad, Jeanine, Alex, Mikey and I-went out to a bar. Yes. My father. In a bar. With his headphones on. And at midnight, Mikey legally ordered alcohol. YAY!
Saturday:
Heat wave continues (90+ in the shade heat wave) for Mike's birthday. Tiffany drives in and we have just enough energy to sit on our rears and watch Rent. Lalala birthday dinner...lalala cake and ice cream and presents...lalala barely being able to sleep in the heat.
Sunday:
heat still around and Liesl's got a double shift in serving. And seeing as no one really wants to stay in their house OR cook, they're all coming in. We had about a 45 minute wait. The last (and only) time I can remember a wait that long was for Cinco. Yeah. THAT busy.
Anyways, that's the recap. Happy Monday!
