I've ordered the fabric - so it'll arrive by the end of the week or Monday, and I'm forcing myself to use a metre of the B&W stripe cotton fabric in my stash for the false blouse & cuffs.

Tonight I cut out the paper pattern. I was going to trace it, but it's a single size pattern so I'm just going to make my life easier!

I got a couple of matching cheap guest towels and they're the ideal size to turn into matching pockets.  I scaled up the pattern in Costume Closeup and used some cotton poplin to line the front, and for the back.  Got some cotton bias binding made for quilters, so don't care if it's period or not.

I've got a month until I need my next costume, a friend is hosting a regency era Boxing Day dinner party. Complete with 3 removes for dinner. We all get to make something to bring so it's not a huge cooking burden on her, and as there's so much food vast quantities of each aren't needed even though there's 12 of us ( Read more... )

I had a small desktop set of 3 drawers that I had my jewellery in for a variety of costume genres. But it wasn't the solution I was anticipating.  The drawer would either hide what I wanted at the back, or the drawer would pull out and be a hassle to get back in without removing everything from all the drawers.  So I'm going to try this instead.
