I ordered the unpainted version of the 7th doctor's sonic as I figured the cost of paint would be cheaper. It's the last sonic screwdriver that the 7th doc uses, and Paul McGann's Dr continues to use it.
oops, back now, I was a little distracted thinking about Paul McGann. I mean his Dr may not be my all time favourite - Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker where THE doctors I remember watching as a child/teenager. I don't think I even watched an entire story with Sylvester McCoy or Colin Baker, and Peter Davison was too entrenched in my mind as the veterinarian from All Creatures Great and Small. These days my mind doesn't typecast him in that role, but he's still not really Doctor Who to me.
Of the reboot, Christopher Eccleston gets my vote and I was really bummed that he left, was much happier with Matt Smith replacing David Tennant than DT replacing CE. hmm wasn't expecting to ramble so much about the Drs so much as show off my new toy.
Anywhoo, I plan to do a Femme-8 using the repro brocade I got to make a corset, and I haven't thought much more than that. I really ought to get the DVD of the Movie for costume inspiration . Yeah that'd be the only reason I'd be gawping at the screen.
The tweezers are there for scale and the octopus necklace is to make a medal for my lobster steampunk. It's funny that although I know goggles and octopus are thematically steampunk I can't just add them to something. It needs to fit in with my mind's view of the lobster costume. can't wear nickel against my skin, but I can turn the necklace in to a medal, and pin it to my bodice
