trying to be realistic with my 2009 costume plans

First up I want to finish my underpinnings list - 3 out of 9 are partly made.

Then it will be easier to make historical costumes - like my Mrs Miggins. gahh can't find fabric, that ebay store didn't have the 6 metres I'll need of the tartan.

I'll need to get the regency stays made fairly soon cos I've got not 1 but 2 early 1800s dresses to make for the Austen festival. 1 day dress in the pink/navy check. 1 ball dress in pale pink (with satin hailspots) in cotton/silk.

Plus I want to make a regency coat to go with from my Hunnisett coats/mantles book. I've got both the outergarment books & can't remember which one it's in. Anyways both the originals were made in 19c muslin. which is a lightweight more openweave than voile fabric. Hmmm I could make it in PINK! That way it'll go with both dresses. I won't make white cos it makes me look sick. ick. Plus a bonnet/reticule etc.

I really want to make my crinoline dress ... because all the photos from Brisbane are giving me a major dose of costume envy! and I still owe CrazyCatLady her crinoline dress.

I'm going to Bris'nova in April, 2 weeks before Austen in Canberra. I want something new but don't know what. I'll wear Disney Fairygodmother one day, perhaps though it'll be warm. I might see if Mrs Miggins can be done by then. Hmmmm Morena Baccarin is supposed to be there this year so I could wear my Inara costume. Though I've worn it to both Bris & Syd already & she mightn't be so flattered at a short fat aging Inara. Though

Syd'nova in June? I have no idea. I'm going to see what inspiration takes me. I should review my long term & ever growing wishlist and see what takes my fancy.

I've got the 1930s pattern
sewphisticategave me that I really want to make. I'm wondering if a retro outing to see the Femmes Fatales exhibition that opens March/May at the Historic Houses Trust. I'm assuming at the Police & Justice Museum.

Plus there's my Edwardian or rather betwixt Edward & Titanic dress for teh August afternoon tea at Nutcote. I'm using Past Patterns http://www.pastpatterns.com/6053.html  which I bought a couple or 3 years ago.  But I should also confess to being obsessed with http://www.pastpatterns.com/7074.html though I didn't buy it as it would need so much grading.

Plus I need a B-Grade sci fi costume for June.
