hunting the viking silk dress

Jul 04, 2008 14:50

This weekend it's Winterfest again.

Oddly enough, it's winter and cold, so I'm hoping I can find the silk apron dress that was too hot for spring/summer.  The brown wool is pointless, and the linen one will be a little too cool methinks.  I'll be wearing inauthentic shoes again, simply cos I can't stand to have sore feet.

Seeing as we're going on Sunday, that gives me tomorrow to get my hair cut/coloured; take the newspaper & a real coffee to a friend in hospital & go home to find the right clothes for the next day.

I'm also hoping to dig out the greige (aka beige/grey colour so beloved by Armani) wool that I bought last November.  I got 4m which will make 2 skirts, easily. If there are any scraps left over I might see if there's enough to try out a capelet from one of my repro vintage patterns.

d'oh, you mightn't have noticed me get distracted, but I just realised what a mess my photobucket is. There's a distinct lack of structure to the earlier pix I've saved so I'm going to tidy them up and then will have to fix any links on PR or here.

Here's hoping I'm warm & dry on Sunday.
