traveling
well last thursday was brendan's 21st birthday and it was so amazing. it started wednesday night when brendan, ryan, jenna, and i went to friday's so he can have his first beer. they don't let people get drinks at midnight on their birthdays, so we had to wait. then he came over to real late in my dorm and we just watched TV like old times. on his actual birthday i brought him a balloon and left 4 dead. he played the game for awhile and i was super glad that he loved the game. then we went to olive garden and it was cute. then we watched the dark knight on blue ray. later we went to matt's house for cake and apples to apples. then we ended his birthday at friday's with everyone. it was really great!
on friday we saw ivoryline at the space. it was so awesome and we ate with them at this diner afterwards. then on saturday was brendan's tiny terror birthday party. i regretted not getting everything in advance before the party. a lot of people came and we hung out and ate food and played rockband. i was a little bummed that all these people who said they were coming didn't, but it was okay. people stayed until like after 2am! i don't think i went to bed until about 4am because i had to clean up my house. i am so happy brendan had such a good birthday!!
so on wednesday morning my mom and i left for SC for britton's USMC graduation. we got up at 3:30am, and at 4:15 my car wouldn't start because of the snow. so we get a car service, and barely make it for our flight. then we sit on the plane for about an hour and half until we are able to take off to newark. we barely make it again to our connecting flight where we once again sit for 2 freakin hours on the plane until we could take off. we finally make it to savannah, GA, then drove to parris island, SC. by that time i was miserable, exhausted, and very sick. on thursday i finally got to see my brother and we got to spend the whole day with him on base for family day! it was so good to see him and hear all his stories! i can't believe he made it!
on friday we went to his 9am graduation and then we spent the day with him in savannah. me and my mom's flight got cancelled to newark, but the marines got us on britton's flight to charlotte. we thought we were home free. we took our flight at 6pm, got to charlotte, NC to catch our connecting flight to hartford and it was cancelled! it was just madness at the airport. we couldn't get another flight back home until 7:45am on SUNDAY!!
i just want to go home and so does britton. he only has 15 days before he has to go home again. so we are stuck in this hotel and it's not like we have a lot of money to spare you know? we had this super nice party planned for britton on sunday. now the airport won't let us check in for our flight tomorrow because more snow is coming in tomorrow! this is all very frustrating. i just want to go home. i didn't plan on being gone for more than 3 days!
