Thank you to everyone who responded to my "mp4 to avi" question. Got a program that works great.
The new problem is: When I try to burn my brand new .avi files, my computer gives me three options.
Option 1: Burn files to disc using Windows Explorer. If I choose this, I then choose from a sub-menu that offers 'from flash drive' or 'with a cd/dvd player'. I chose 'with a cd/dvd player' and burned the files. But when I put them in my DVD player, I get a message that says "wrong file content" and they won't play.
Option 2: Burn a DVD video disk using Windows DVD Maker. The first time I chose this, I burned one thing only (as a test) and it worked fine. But now when I try to burn more than one thing on a disk, it gets stalled at 30%. Cancelling doesn't even work, it gets 'stuck' and I have to restart the computer to end the program. Also, this option only fits TWO one hour programs on a disk (or it would if it didn't get stalled, that is!)
Option 3: Burn data to CD/DVD using Power2Go. Same problem as Option 1. In my DVD player, I get a message that says "wrong file content" and they won't play.
This is only a problem on the things I have converted from mp4. All the things that were originally avi files burn and play fine. I am pulling out my hair over here. What am I doing wrong??
ETA: Tried a different converting program. Disk still won't play, but this time I get "HD not supported".
I want to cry.
end ETA
Please help me, my wise and powerful flist!
