Actually getting the bees exterminated has, so far, been the simplest thing that happened in the past five days. The most difficult part was popping the screen out of one of the living room windows to run the cord in for the pump thing. (There isn't an outlet on the outside of the house.) The thing to do when your spouse gets new glasses is to say something like "I like those" or "those look good on you" or "that's a nice color".

Not peer closely at the sides of their head and say "the sides look like squid."

Especially because now I can't unsee it.

Steve got this for me as a birthday cake. Suffice to say, I was not expecting it.

I work in a building that houses the local newspaper, and when I come in the front door I have to walk by the Classifieds/Subscription desk. Today as I came back into work with my lunchtime bagel I did just that, and happened to overhear the rep working Classifieds say "You want to rent cats?" and the customer say 'Yes, for three dollars a month".
