Picocon today (as always hosted by the Imperial college ΨΦ society). Not much in the way of books to pick up, (although I did snag the Engines of Light trilogy), but the author sessions were interesting, the panel distracted, and the silly games amused. Today I'm irritated at TfL. Now, you see, if I'm interested in traveling on the Docklands Light Railway then the nice DLR people will let me download a nice timetable like this. On the Tube and the other hand you can't download such things, even though they exist for at least some (possibly all?) stations.

Over the bank-holiday weekend there are a number of engineering works going on, most notably that the District is closed in the centre of London (and hence the Circle too). This produces a rather odd looking map.

So, on Friday I went haring around Central London's hidden depths as Capture The Beard.
